Telegraph claims Cameron is ruining the Nation! Wrong the entire Country believes that!

Cameron fled to Liberia yesterday, is there any more insignificant country in Africa? Read here!

More importantly for Britain, has there ever been a more disastrous Prime Minister than this useless object David Cameron? Even the Tory Party house journal the Daily Telegraph, read here, is questioning his competence this morning under the headline:

How serious is the conspiracy to bring down Prime Minister David Cameron?

For many Tory MPs, their leader is dooming the country to disaster and the Conservative Party to extinction

David Cameron Conservative Leader rules out an EU IN/OUT Referendum

The record of the statement on the 18/19 October European Council, given by Prime Minister David Cameron to Parliament yesterday, could not be clearer, any vote for a Conservative Party candidate while Cameron still leads that party is a vote for Britain to stay forever within the EU.

Past performances by the Labour and Liberal Democrat parties essentially mean the same harsh facts are true in so far as voting for those two parties is the likely to be case in any future General Election as well.

The Hansard record is linked here.

Later today I will be posting on why Spain must now leave the EU. The same counts double for Britain too, in my view, which in a sane world would render Cameron unelectable!

Evidence of the EU's tyranny grows daily, yet  so bound and tied to that evil has Britain's government become; that they now they have even ceased to protest!

Belgium faces collapse as Belgian political practises take root in Britain

Flemish nationalist leader Bart De Wever hailed a "historic" victory in Antwerp's mayoral vote on Sunday after he and his New Flemish Alliance brought an end to 90 years of Socialist dominance in the northern port city.

Such is the opening to the EU challenging earth tremor that shook European politics last evening, and in quite typical fashion is completely ignored as far as I can see in the British mainstream media this morning. Read the entire France24 report from here.

Belgium under King Leopold II, became notorious for vicious, cruel and exploitative colonialism in the Congo, more recently as chief home for the anti-democratic EU it is known for all that is rotten with that institution, much of which has yet to see the light of day.

Rwanda, a former Belgian colony, is however today also spreading its pall into British politics in both Downing Street and Chipping Norton, see the Daily Express report from here, from which comes this quote:

Project Umubano sends Tory volunteers on two-week stints during the summer to help survivors of the 1994 genocide.

They coach local organisations how to bid for aid money and work directly with schools.

One former volunteer was Justine Greening, the new International Development Secretary who must now decide whether aid should continue to Rwanda.

Christopher Shale, who was chairman of Mr Cameron’s Tory constituency association in Oxfordshire, was a founding volunteer.

Odd as the newspaper points out, that the presentlypressured Chief Whip, Andy Mitchell, authoriseda huge transfer to Rwanda as his last act before being replaced by Greening, odder too perhaps the suspicious death of Mr Shale in a Portaloo at Glastonbury!

This blog has long maintained that one of the worst aspects of the EU has been the adoption by our polticians of practises for which the Continent alone was once notorious, this seems a case in point!

Germany exposes the iron fist of solidarity over Greece & EADS

The following quote from Germany comes from the Chines media:

For his part, the FDP's parliamentary chief, Rainer Bruederle, told the Welt am Sonntag newspaper that the chancellor's visit was “a clear sign of our solidarity with Greece.”

Politicians from the opposition Social Democratic Party (SPD) and Greens struck a similar tone ahead of the visit, Merkel's first to Greece since the eurozone debt crisis ignited nearly three years ago.

Elsewhere German arrogance, disguised as EU solidarity, is displayed in the demand that should the merger of the Franco/German aircraft and defense firm EADS with British Aerospace be allowed to proceed, the combined company must be headquartered in Germany and the French and German Governments be given authority to retain state shareholdings.

Britain's remaining defence will thus lie almost entirely within foreign control, its non-EU markets in the USA, Australia, Canada and othe Commonwealth countries neutered and therefore our islands doomed to insignificance in a very short time.

Like Britain's power utilities, manufacturing industry, chemical busiuness and so many other once strong international concerns, British Aerospace will have been destroyed.

Less than 70 years since the end of WWII, Germany will have disarmed our country.

It seems the Prime Minister, David Cameron's party conference speech tomorrow could not fall at a more appropriate moment.

Nailing Cameron the serial EU LIAR!

The following exchange occurred on Twitter last evening:

I'm starting Conference with this new Twitter feed about my role as Conservative Leader. I promise there won't be "too many tweets..."
How do we know you are the David Cameron? Swear you will offer us an EU referendum, when you renege I'll believe it's you!

Cameron Makes Veto Pledge On EU Budget

Sky News - ‎16 minutes ago‎

Members of the Conservative Party, (voters in the country have already clearly rejected this man as their leader in a General Election ousting the most corrupt and useless government in the history of the nation) are now the only ones who can rid us of this lying and arrogant low-life) Let us hope there is enough remaining decency amongst party members to accomplish this desperately needed task!

October 2000 - When the Conservatives sold out to the Druggies

Fittingly it was under the leadership of William Hague, today's Foreign Secretary, during the party conference season that the leadership, rank and file of the Conservative Party placed themselves in the hands of the admitted drug heads, seven admitted (former?) drugs users in the Shadow Cabinet alone according to this summary of events.

Anne Widdecombe, correctly assessing the dangers to society and her own party in particular from the growing acceptance of substance abuse had proposed a £100 fine for the possession of even small quantities of drugs such as cannabis. Opposition grew, led among others by Francis Maude, present Cabinet Secretary, as may be read in this Telegraph report from here. Five of those senior Tories admitting drugs misuse at the time are named in this link.

As I linked yesterday, it was reported subsequently in the Observer, linked again here, that not only did the present Prime Minister admit to taking drugs while only fifteen years old at Eton, the prime age now identified as high risk for permanent brain damage, he asloc continued to misuse cannabis whilst at Oxford, I quote:

The Conservative leader - who has repeatedly dismissed media inquiries by refusing to comment publicly on whether he has taken drugs - was also understood to have continued occasionally to smoke pot as a university student at Oxford.

The Independent, around the same time, also carried out a pretty complete investigation of Cameron's past, which may be read from here.

So where does that leave the country as Parliament returns this Monday morning from its long summer recess. Quite clearly with a Government led by a brain-damaged and weak-willed man quite incapable of grasping the scale of the problems the country faces. Alongside him are possibly several other senior Cabinet members from his own party similarly encumbered, and a Foreign Secretary, reportedly with an IQ of 144, unreduced by any substance misuse but with absolutely zero street-cred or smarts, given his decision while party leader to hand its organisation and operation to the druggies, plus his record at the FCO, absolutely typified by his recent threat for Britain to apparently thwart all diplomatic norms by storming the Ecuadorian Embassy.

One report from Science Daily on the lasting brain damage caused by adolescent use of cannabis is here:

An international research team has found that persistent, dependent use of marijuana before age 18 has been shown to cause lasting harm to a person's intelligence, attention and memory

My comment to John Redwood this morning - Cameron's resignation and the ECB.

Martin Cole
Posted August 3, 2012 at 5:46 am | Permalink
Your comment is awaiting moderation.
Conservative MPs in my view should be using the recess to develop ways of ridding their Party of the Cameron influence which is set to destroy all in which they presented themselves to the nation as their core beliefs.
A light legislative programme following the recess is anything but what the nation requires with the legal consequences from the EU’s deliberate self-destruction to be shortly dealt with.
The earliest possible start to prepare for such an event will become obvious as soon as the Coalition Agreement, which presently makes the necessary preparation impossible, is abandoned.
Cameron, to be seen daily strutting around Olympic facilities and interviewed on sporting matters, while the ECB becomes an international laughing stock as occurred yesterday, seems surely ready to depart with only the minimum of pressure, he clearly senses he is inadequate for the duties and responsibilities he has taken on!

Only Clegg has the power to rid us of the mess in Cameron's mind!

On 5th September 2010, I wondered on the apparent absence of any moral compass in the make-up of Prime Minister, David Cameron, over his appointment of Andy Coulson, to Downing street, read here. That posting concluded with the following stark truths for Liberal Democrats:

Liberal Democrats not wishing to now become tarred by the same brush of sleaze, half-truths and downright untruths which the Downing Street media manipulation machine has become over recent years should quickly re-examine the backgrounds and lack of integrity and judgement that seems to be the rule among the leadership of their coalition partners as Parliament re-convenes after its long break during the past crisis ridden summer. Does the country really wish the connotation of 10 Downing Street to be set by former News of the World editor Andy Coulson? If so many former Tory Prime Ministers must now be turning in their graves.

In May this year a wake-up call to Paddy Ashdown on the Blog Orphans of Liberty, to which I at least received the courtesy of a reply, that cannot be linked at present as the site is down, but the repeat of the posting on this blog is linked here. It began as follows:

In the fraught days of two years ago, when the general election delivered a hung parliament to Britain, the crucial role played by former Liberal Democrat Party Leader, Lord Paddy Ashdown, became evident through his frquent media appearences and statements. An even more critical turning point now presents itself to this senior party grandée, and self-appointed representative of decency within Britain's system of governance.

Can Lord Ashdown still shrug off my concerns so readily today as he felt able so to do last May?

Last evening on Sky News we watched Business Secretary of State, Vince Cable, squirm on the Jeff Randall Live interview, whilst trying to defend the completely odious Lord Green whom it appears was content to oversee activities while in charge at HSBC  rightly condemned last week in the US Congress.

Nick Clegg must be woken up to realise that the connotations of linking names such as Osborne/Oleg Deripaska and Coulson/Wade will hardly sit well with voters seeking a change from the present corrupt methods of contemporary politics and an escape from being governed according to the priorities and perogatives of the messy mind inside the head of David Cameron.

All this takes on an even greater urgency when the extent of the disaster in the Euro Group is taken on board, Britain will need some right thinking individuals looking out for the nation's interests as these events unfold, as it appears ever more doubtful that this crisis is going to permit Europe's leaders and coddled fonctionaires their usual two month summer break, while matters fester and deteriorate ever further, they can hardly surely now hardly get any worse?

Oil proves Osborne incompetent on economy - EU/Olympics for all politicos

Osborne's incompetence in attempting to intitailly destroy one of the few productive sectors of our economy in his ealiest days was pointed up by The Guardian in March 2011, linked here. This blog of course was on this case from the start reminding readers on 23rd February of this year as follows:

George Osborne's policies have already resulted in a real slow-down in exploration activity in the British sector of the North Sea. Brilliantly mistimed and breathtakingly ignorant as it was when first announced his extra tax decisions appear ever more mistaken as the threat from Iran in the Straits of Hormuz pushes the oil markets to daily higher prices.

Osborne's stubborn pride, crass ignorance and almost complete ministerial incompetence, in charge of Britain's economy during this period of grave crisis cannot surely be allowed to continue any longer, given the proof of all that knowledgeable oil industry experts have been maintaining for many months, as evidenced by this report from The Scotsman, this morning, which after the good news concludes:

“These statistics always sound very exciting because we’re operating from a low base of activity. We have some way to go before we are back to the levels seen in 2009 and 2010.”

The lamentable reports on the Olympics provide another insight into the total inability of politicians from any party, once put in office, to run anything, presumably compounded by the elitist ignorant university trained hierarchies of an almost entirely blinkered and back-scratching civil service power structure.

Yet all that shrinks into complete insignificance viewing the farce of the media show in a railway shed yesterday of the PM and his Deputy. What should have been urgently concerning these two public school pratts cannot be better summarised, I believe, than by this contribution, last evening from The Slog, linked here. A quote on Britain:

Future observers and historians will look back at this euromess, and probably have three main reactions: first, they will wonder why the populace allowed gravy-train bureaucrats and hubris-blinded politicians to continue the pointless pavane for so long;  and second, they will gasp at the smug inaction of Camerlot in failing to spot when an imponderable outcome became an impossible nightmare for the British.

Bastille Day finds France blowing €Billions on EU Glorification

I had hoped that in spite of completely mental taxation and spending policies the incoming socialist administration in France would at least have the common sense to halt the ridiculous massive spending on vainglorious rail improvement projects cutting mere minutes from journey times to Brussels, solely for the pride of the insane EU and its pampered Commissioners and employees. Not so!

Attending our commune's Mairie to complete the new five paged formalities regarding bonfires in our garden (President Hollande's plan to ease unemployment so far consists of hiring an extra 150,000 civil servants, so we can expect more of these,) we were given a broadsheet, twelve page, full colour presentation called LISEA Express, detailing the incredible waste of billions of €uros on the high-speed upgrade for the existing efficient and speedy rail link, between Tours and Bordeaux, known as LGV (Ligne Grande Vitesse) Tours Bordeaux. Visit the website here if you are interested or opposed to the similar HS2 in the UK!

France was lucky in that Britain pipped it to the post in getting the 2012 Olympics, so the French will be spared the ludicrous waste of taxpayers' money in the full face of the worst economic crisis the world has likely ever faced. In France, Renault and Peugeot this week announced car sales in France down around 15% in the second quarter, a truly shocking fall given the depressed start point from the 2007/2008 crisis effected levels. One Peugeot factory will be shut with 8,000 more job losses on top of the 6,500 previously announced.

Here are some of the dreadful statistics this free brochure boasts about in extolling the detail of this rail project, exceeded technologically, of course, while Queen Victoria sat upon England's throne:

Train speeds will rise from 230 km/hr to 320km/hr (Keeping civil servants from their desks as long as possible would likely yield greater taxpayer savings, ordinary folk will be flying with budget airlines):

No matter, the EU inspired railway line, designed to get Spanish and Portuguese fonctionaires to their Brussels desks some twenty minutes faster than previously, ignoring the fact that flying from Lisbon and Madrid would be quicker and cheaper AND that there will likely be no need for such journeys, given both countries might soon regain their independence from Brussels through economic necessity.

70 stream and 4 major river crossings:

14 crossings above or below existing rail tracks:

1,000 diversions of gas pipelines, telephone and fibre optic cables, 300 deviations of electricity power lines and moving 320 water mains.

3 million tons of ballast to be quarried and laid.

3,000 hectares of preventitive archaeology, etc., etc., etc.

Can one credit the supposed thought processes of those authorising and overseeing such waste, not just at a national level, where the lunacy of appointing civil servants to reduce unemployment now sits alongside the compulsory 35 hour week for extreme governmental absurdity?

At the back of the French administrative mind, I suspect lies the thought that much of the cash being blown away comes from others in the EU. Cameron should take note, criminal waste on such a grand scale will not be tolerated in England,  HS2 should be cancelled in the UK and concurrently Britain should freeze all EU budget contributions dedicated to the transport sector, failure to do so is an abdication of responsibility; Justine Greening the transport secretary should present that case.

Instead we get an announcement this moment on the BBC Radio 4 news at 8:00 that the rail line between London and Sheffield is to be electrified, funded by the EU as well? My foot, we are all broke! £500 million down the drain to keep Nick Clegg sweet, Sheffield holds his constituency, pork barrel spending at its worst!

Cameron is clearly not Prime-Ministerial material - What got the Tories here?

It is difficult to think of a precedent for the deep humiliation to the office of British Prime Minister, in which David Cameron effectively placed himself and his authority, during his appearance at his own creation, the Leveson inquiry, last Thursday!

This post, the first of this weekend on this particular topic, is an attempt to look back and try and make sense of the disaster now about to take place and how the Conservative Party, architects of most of the EU Treaties propelled the nation into such economic jeopardy.

Before David Cameron, the immediately previous Old Etonian to lead the party and hold the highest political position in the land, was Sir Alec Douglas-Home, read here, who was a compromise choice as party leader, but as quoted from the above link, had held offices giving him vast experience with which to fulfill his duties:

...in the government of Harold Macmillan; assumed the office of Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs (28 Jul 1960 - 21 Oct 1963), criticizing the Soviet expansionism and supporting the U.S. in the Cuban Missile Crisis (1962); following the announcement of Macmillan on his plans to resign (10 Oct 1963), Douglas-Home was persuaded to stand up for the leadership as a compromise figure; acting on Macmillan's advice, Queen Elizabeth II summoned him to form a government (18 Oct 1963), but he requested time for consultations; after another audience with the Queen (19 Oct 1963), he was appointed Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury; became the first person to disclaim his peerage (23 Oct 1963) in order to be elected to the House of Commons and won a by-election becoming MP for the third time (MP for Kinross and West Pertshire, 1963-1975); was elected Leader of the Conservative and Unionist Party (11 Nov 1963 - 2 Aug 1965)...

Home was deemed a failure as PM in the aftermath of his election defeat, although historians have tended to treat him more generously, (and the margin of loss was considerably less than that predicted, especially by those following TW3!) The former Lord Home, was the last Tory leader to be serrupticiously appointed by the Tory Party grandees, so we can only imagine the intrigue and "behind closed doors dealings" that had been underway in that selection process.

What then followed, however, begins the long trail to the disastrous leadership selection processes which have led to the utter shaming of English Conservatism, the new "pink" version of which, David Cameron has this weekend become to typify.

Home's replacement was Edward Heath, whom his Wikipedia entry reveals, was as well qualified for the post as the necessarily de-peered "Sir Alec", there were though, even then, question marks about "Ted" Heath. I recall discussing such with my father, which (particulalrly on this present weekend, with the potential collapse of the European Union hanging over us, plus the added enormous benefit of hindsight) appear much more significant today, at this historic crisis point, than they probably did then, especially those raised in this particular section of the Wikipedia report on Heath:

"In the summer of 1939 he again travelled across Germany, returning to England just before the declaration of war.[citation needed]

World War II

Heath spent the winter of 1939–40 on a debating tour of the United States before being called up, and early in 1941...."

I was already fascinated by politics when Heath became party leader in 1965, and remember favouring him over Reginald Maudling, which can surely have been only as a result of the media coverage at that time. I canot recall Britain's stance towards Europe as regards to our fading Empire and the emerging Commonwealth as being a leadership issue in that contest, although it was then only some five years since Macmillan's Winds of Change speech in South Africa.

Decolonisation was proceeding at rapid rates as can be seen from the map on Africa below, and Heath had, of course, already been Macmillan's chosen negotiator for Britain's entry to the Common Market, as eventually, regrettably only temporarily, vetoed by President De Gaulle of France. It can therefore be noted as strange that more was not made of Heath's position on Europe when challenging for the leadership. An ominous silence on the major issue of our age, which thereafter continued within the Conservative Party for decades, all leading to our present dire straits!

At this point it seems worthwhile to highlight the questions raised by the the Leveson inquiry so far, particularly perhaps to suggest a re-balancing in the key questions for module 4 of the investigation, which if the EU does disintegrate, will find it difficult to ignore the much bigger question than routine or everyday press/political interaction, namely to consider what went on behind the scenes of our country's deep involvement in, and domination by, the non-democratic Popperian Tyranny that is the EU.

Ironically such an EU collapse could perhaps recast the Murdochs as the heroes rather than villains between politicians and the media at Leveson! How stupid will Major's complaint to Leveson this week then appear, that Rupert Murdoch had endeavoured to get him to change his European policy! That too in a week when the British Fisheries Minister admitted to Parliament, see here, that not only did he not know who owned the "quota" to Britain's fish (namely the right to land and sell it, surely the most basic sovereignty of all, apart from defence, over our seas,) but worse, that he had apparently been actively prevented from obtaining such information upon the ownership of our quota!

I would also suggest the Leveson inquiry should consider the treatment of other established parties such as UKIP (and to a lesser extent Veritas, in which I was personally involved and where the BBC apparently had the power to prevent candidate based, equal access to Party Political Broadcasts by a new entrant in a General Election campaign, notwithstanding there seeming to be no statutory authority for their wielding such power as the Chair of a committee made up by representatives of their supine fellow broadcasters!)

Have the larger political parties through their stranglehold on government and closeness to the press been also able to see off the arrival of upstart competition?
Were they indeed able to determine between them that continuation of Britain's membership of the EU was an overriding national interest, and thereafter use the resources of the state to hinder political parties whose policies went in the opposite direction, as has been rumoured, not only within UKIP for years, but also as once mentioned in The Spectator by Lord Tebbit? Perhaps we can look forward to the latter, together with the other giant figure on the opposite side, Trevor Kavanagh, appearing at Leveson in July!

I will continue with this review of the modern Conservative Party and what it is already becoming clear are the events and manipulative power plays that resulted in its possible betrayal of our nation, over the course of this weekend.

When does the negligence of the Leaders of the EU become criminal?

The answer to the question posed in the headline to this posting, as to when the negligence of the leadership demonstrated by those guiding the EU, cannot be answered by anything I can find within the relevant EU Treaties. Indeed, if anything, all that appears to have been provided therein seems to be for all those individuals involved to live free for ever from all the consequences of their appalling actions.

It will therefore be up to the laws of each individual member state to determine whether or not those responsible for the disasters unfolding across the EU will ever be held liable, or indeed bear any adverse consequences at all for their gross, obscene, possibly criminal and worst of all long foreseen and predicted negligence. Take Spain, which Fitch downgraded three notches yesterday, the consequences of the country's building bust have been heading our way for years, but ZERO preparations seem to have been made!

In Britain's case, a headline in today's Telegraph proclaims Cameron as claiming he will protect Britain from the future consequences of an EU Superstate, given the record of himself and his party down the years, this is an absurd claim and one not borne out in the video from Berlin, used by that newspaper, to substantiate its headline as may be seen here:

The detail on what Cameron actually said from the body of the article, was most clearly as follows:

“I understand why single currency countries have to look at deeper integration. What I will do is make sure that Britain’s interest, particularly in the single market, is protected,” he said. “I am convinced that as Europe develops, we can protect Britain’s interests in a proper way.”

How can gross negligence such as that being clearly repeated yet again be countered by the laws of our land?

Is it not about time some legal or prosecuting authorities began to investigate such a crucial point.

Men's deadliest enemy. Ireland nevertheless still deserves our moral support!

"When unlimited and unrestricted by individual rights, a government is men's deadliest enemy." Ayn Rand

The EU is now effectively a government! Worse it is daily ever more obvious that its nature and methods are tyrannical!

Although the people of Ireland have shown that imposition of an economic dependency can successfully drive a once independent people to choose imagined comfort and security over sovereignty, independence and freedom I imagine others will not so readily accept effective slavery. Their leader presupposes that benefit might be achived from such cowardice, read this report in the Irish Times, from here.

Elsewhere in that same newspaper, read here, one of the main architects of the EU's present venal machinations, EU Commissioner Olli Rehn, actually predicts the obvious end result of  the treatment already inflicted on Greece, Ireland and Portugal now resulting in the breakdown of civilised life in Spain and Italy.

Britain or more correctly England, Northern Ireland and Wales must offer their support to the Irish people in the coming difficult times. The people of Scotland unhappily have themselves presently chosen a government that wishes to impose a similar form of slavery on their country as that selected by the people of Ireland yesterday, when they opted for rule by foreigners under the new European Fiscal Treaty, so far thanks to Britain and David Cameron, not yet an EU Treaty!

Are David & Sam Cameron heading to OZ after Downing Street?

Resignation, long awaited by all decent British electors, must be high in the sights of Prime Minister, David Cameron this evening as news breaks that he and his wife, Samantha, have selected an Australian nanny for their young daughter. Read the rather critical report in The Guardian, linked here.

Whether this came on the recommendation of the Murdoch clan is not yet known, neither whether it is in anticipation of a fairly prompt and hurried departure from Downing Street possibly requiring fairly rapid acclimatisation to a country where they presumably hope to still receive a tepid welcome.

This blog takes the news as a very welcome sign that the real difficulties of the EU are finally, perhaps, being grasped by our PM, however, quitting the sinking ship like a rat seems more characteristic of the man than his having such a sudden realistic, economic insight!

Probably merely complete and utter thoughtlessness, as in every other area of his policies and governance!

Cameron's undisclosed meetings with Murdoch

The following is from Hansard in the Commons this afternoon, linked here.

Chris Bryant (Rhondda) (Lab):
On a point of order, Mr Speaker. Last July the Prime Minister—I tried to warn him that I would raise this point of order; obviously he has now left the Chamber—published a list of all the meetings he had had with proprietors, editors and senior media executives between May 2010 and July 2011. It details only one meeting with Rupert Murdoch between May and July 2011. However, this afternoon Rupert Murdoch—this has been published by the Leveson inquiry—made it clear that there were meetings with the Prime Minister on 18 May, 25 May, 21 July, another on 21 July, and 22 July. My point of order is to ask you whether something that is laid in the Library of the House is just as much a matter of privilege as something that is said. In other words, if someone has tabled something in the Library that has misled the House, is that just as serious a matter as something said in the Chamber?
Mr Speaker:
All Members, including the Prime Minister, are responsible for the accuracy of what they say to the House, and my implicit assumption is that that includes material lodged with the House. I am happy to take further advice on that, but there is an encouraging nod from the Clerk of the House from a sedentary position, and that provides me with succour. Beyond that, I simply say that Members should be careful what they say if—I emphasise if—they are not asking a question, but making an accusation. I say that simply for the general knowledge and enrichment of the House. I am grateful to the hon. Gentleman for his point of order.

The knives are out for Sir Jeremy Heywood!

Quentin Letts wrote a brilliant article on the odious Sir Jeremy Heywood which appeared in The Spectator, 17th March edition, on which I blogged on 15th March which is linked here.

Today, the same magazine, has a follow-up piece by James Forsyth, full of criticism of Heywood's takeover of the Number 10 policy unit, which may be read from here. That Speccie article concludes with the following paragraph, a dire warning for Cameron in light of the latest Home Office fiasco:

Throughout his leadership of the Tory party, Cameron’s saving grace has been that he’s managed to change direction just before it’s too late. At the moment, though, he does not appear to be in the mood for doing that. One confidant says, ‘He doesn’t think there’s an existential threat to his premiership. It takes a lot to shake him out of his complacency.’ Cameron is used to having his critics talk this way, but when his friends join in then he ought to take notice. There are, after all, only a certain amount of mistakes and U-turns that a government can survive before it loses its most valuable asset: credibility.

Perhaps Cameron's only hope, at this late stage, is throwing the Knights of the Civil Service overboard, they are expendable and make perfect jetsam, thereafter we could as a country face up to the real crisis which is caused by the EU and is rapidly getting out of control!

Treasures from the threads - Number 73 Crooked Cameron.

An article in the Daily Telegraph, by James Kirkup and Holly Watt, reports widespread dissatisfaction with Cameron and Osborne amongst Tory MPs in Westminster, linked here, has recieved this telling comment:

I wonder if the fuel panic was sufficient to boost output and keep our GDP just high enough to avoid the dreaded double dip recession? The possibility will not have been lost on Mr Osborne

David Cameron and George Osborne are now firmly lodged in the public's mind for the cheapskate but posh, snivelling, insubstantial, second rate tricksters they have always quite obviously been. The electorate and their party ludicrously gave them the benefit of the doubt over perhaps having some principles and/or morality for far, far too long. Who can possibly do so today.

The country must now await the latest maiden speech of George Galloway MP, who will hopefully address the wider spread dissatisfaction and distress across the nation and thereafter the collapse of this dreadful coalition with a General Election and hopefully alongside a concurrent referendum on the question of our future with the EU as it collapses. It is the EU that has corrupted our existing political parties, they and it must be abandoned!

Update 0830 BST It appears the entire Telegraph Group have also decided Cameron must go, read Iain Martin linked here.

The sick political minds that would tap oil stocks during heightened Mid-East tensions

The Guardian reports, among other sources, that President Obama and PM Cameron "huddled" over a cost reduction use of strategic petroleum reserves yesterday. Translated this could only have been a US ploy to gain votes for the Democratic party nominee in the coming elections, Britain having no such reserves other than in the smallest conceivable quantities set aside strictly for defensive use.

The world runs on oil, to think that even one second's consideration could have been given to such a treacherous and outrageous notion at a time when the threat to safe navigation through the Straits of Hormuz has been under consideration for several weeks beggars belief. It comes close to signal an intent to abandon one's national defence for the gain of another term in office!

The self-serving and thoroughly disgusting opportunism of the two men presently in control of the supposed democracies of both Britain and America is a startling damnation of the principles and priorities of both their electorates.

Cameron's good friend of thirty years.

"By their friends shall ye know them" I said in a post headline on this blog on 7th November 2010 in relation to Coulson/Cameron/Clegg as may be read here.

Later, on 22nd January 2011, I returned to the topic to register my amazement that nothing was being done in the Conservative Party to remove the piece of over-privileged corruption that was destroying our nation from office. It seems timely to repeat that message in full again, while drawing further attention to the particular Conservative MPs whom I then felt, because of their expressed policy positions and personal positions, owed the country some action - Messrs Liam Fox, Iain Duncan-Smith, Douglas Carswell and John Redwood. The first named has since resigned as a result of his own dubious actions in office, but what of the silence and inaction of the other three in the interim period now culminating in yesterday's further questioning and the Raisa riding implications? Here is that posting:

The corruption that was Coulson will continue to stain Downing Street and the Coalition!

On 7th November last year I wrote the following on this blog:

With Coulson at the centre of Britain's Coalition Government the people of the country will sooner rather than later realise they are being governed by a small clique of PR savvy conmen.

Seventy-four days later, the former editor of the News of the World rag, that pretends to be a newspaper rather than the gutter scavenging scandalsheet it truly is, has finally resigned.

The damage perpetrated on the British political system, started under Blair with Alistair Campbell a former "
journalist" on the NoW sister daily publication, the ghastly tabloid The Sun, will nevertheless continue as long as Prime Minister Cameron is permitted by his party to remain in office.

What have apparently decent, honourable and supposedly public spirited Conservative and Liberal Democrat MPs been doing with their consciences during the intervening sevety-four days. Do they indeed actually have any consciences?

Why have the likes of Liam Fox, Iain Duncan-Smith, Douglas Carswell and John Redwood (who presumably entered politics to promote conservative ideas) been doing either serving alongside or voting with this shyster led bunch of con-artists?

David Cameron is a stain upon the Nation  and a disgrace to his office. Decent Conservatives, presumably led by David Davis should withdraw their support from the Coalition Government and bring a halt to this national shaming, so well epitomised by Blair's appearance before the Iraq enquiry yesterday, must we wait a decade before Cameron and Clegg are brought to similar account?

The foul News of the World has disappeared from the streets of Britain since the above was written, but now The Sun on Sunday spreads its tentacles in its place.

Meanwhile, for another 417 days on top of the 74 run up between the first two posts, due to the cowardice and lack of sense of any public duty amongst ordinary Conservative and Liberal Democrat MPs the "small clique of PR savvy conmen" control everything and further deliver the nation's future financial well-being into the hands of similar shady figures behind the EU.
