Shattered & smashed Spain to put €5.5 billion into bankrupt Bankia

Olli Rehn the bumbling, mumbling and clearly grossly incompetent EU (Failed) Finances Commissioner has allowed Spain to commit yet more billions in  funds even though approval of the terms by the EU seems ever less likely and ever more weeks away, read here.

The amount is up yet another billion from that being reported over the weekend and even last evening!

A reminder of Olli Rehn's deep complicity in the catastrophe now unfolding across the EU!

It is instructive to see the disinterest of the press in the complete non-entity who was then being confirmed with powers sufficient to destroy the economies of not just the 17 Euro Zone countries, but the entire economic structures of the 27 member states of the European Union thereafter reaching out to hit the rest of the world.

This blog watching and recording the actions of so many creeps such as this could always, and indeed did always, predict this obvious end result. Rehn is merely one of many such men and women, he has been picked here because his EU Commission role has been at the forefront of the unfolding economic disaster - I am sure there are far more worthless specimens of humanity within the Commission, past and present, even more culpable down the long years of the EU nightmare we have all been forced to live through. The full consequences of which seem now likely to be only really getting underway over the coming days, weeks, months and years! Good Luck to all!

I am sorry that written words, images and the odd video on my blogging proved not to be warning enough!

Here is a video on the present situation in Spain, worse will soon inevitably arrive:

Olli says EU moving towards "banking union" ekathimerini

Rehn: "We are now moving on in the discussion on the possible ways and means to create a banking union"

The above is from Twitter. If Olli Rehn says it then on his track record it is likely to be the absolutely last thing ever likely to take place, for proof see all his other statements on the euro crisis.

Olli Rehn's Press Spokesman confirms grab for enhanced EU Commission powers

Spain is now so financially desperate it seems ready to conced any amount of sovereignty top save itself. A report from India on yesterday's dangerous developments is linked here, from which comes the following confirmation of the EU Commissions willingness to extend their arbitrary and non-democratically restricted powers!

A spokesman for Olli Rehn, the EU commissioner in charge of economic and monetary affairs, said draft legislation designed to step up financial discipline in the euro zone, would create such a fiscal authority by granting new powers to the EU's executive.

"This would grant enhanced powers to the European Commision on fiscal surveillance, including allowing the sanctioning of countries," said Amadeu Altafaj.

"Even before a budget is drafted and reaches the national parliament, the Commission could ask for a revision of the budgetary plans if it considers this would not allow a country to meet its fiscal commitments, and thereby could endanger financial stability."

Men's deadliest enemy. Ireland nevertheless still deserves our moral support!

"When unlimited and unrestricted by individual rights, a government is men's deadliest enemy." Ayn Rand

The EU is now effectively a government! Worse it is daily ever more obvious that its nature and methods are tyrannical!

Although the people of Ireland have shown that imposition of an economic dependency can successfully drive a once independent people to choose imagined comfort and security over sovereignty, independence and freedom I imagine others will not so readily accept effective slavery. Their leader presupposes that benefit might be achived from such cowardice, read this report in the Irish Times, from here.

Elsewhere in that same newspaper, read here, one of the main architects of the EU's present venal machinations, EU Commissioner Olli Rehn, actually predicts the obvious end result of  the treatment already inflicted on Greece, Ireland and Portugal now resulting in the breakdown of civilised life in Spain and Italy.

Britain or more correctly England, Northern Ireland and Wales must offer their support to the Irish people in the coming difficult times. The people of Scotland unhappily have themselves presently chosen a government that wishes to impose a similar form of slavery on their country as that selected by the people of Ireland yesterday, when they opted for rule by foreigners under the new European Fiscal Treaty, so far thanks to Britain and David Cameron, not yet an EU Treaty!

Olli Rehn pleads for more cash for the EIB!

Click here for the real stupidity!

Apologies to fans of "Another Fine Mess" Olli's original theme tune from this blog, but this remains the subject of a copyright dispute between Google and some Germans!

I am quite taken by this alternative!

"Another Fine Mess" Olli says Portugal needs more bailouts!

Read the always inevitable report of the latest absurdities from EU Finance Commissioner Olli Rehn, linked here.

Unhappily, again today, I cannot supply Olli's "Another Fine Mess" theme tune as Google have demonstrated their control by the EU in appearing to have had all versions of the original Laurel & Hardy song removed from YouTube, co-incidence - I think not!

Originally the statement on the video was that the uploader had closed their YouTube account. This morning we have the following:

This video is unavailable
"Laurel and Hardy Anoth..."
This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Cinematographische Commerz Anstalt.

Enough said eh!

Olli Rehn's Ironies Too theme tune removed from YouTube

Olli Rehn the EU Finance Commissioner, notorious for the fine mess he has made of his position, has long been unique in having been gifted his own theme tune by this blog "Another Fine Mess" by Laurel and Hardy. Although he is still making stupid remarks and presiding over the biggest financial disaster in European history, we will now be unable to post this video to accompany his inanities.

I have just tweeted his latest from the WSJ as follows. "Europe has not yet recovered from the financial crisis back to the levels before it," Olli Rehn EU Finance Commissioner"

Maybe a blog reader has an alternative source for the original video, which really was quite catchy, see here where once it resided.

Amazing the reach and grotesqueness of the EU is it not? Where even a simple tune has to be removed from our enjoyment!

Olli's new Eurogroup Categories - German and non-German

Thanks to the Daily Mail blog of Mary Ellen Synon, for picking up on this one of Olli's faux pas, that I missed, the link is here and the exact quote is as follows:

Then during the questions there emerged a new phrase about the 17-member single currency: 'the 16 non-German members of the eurozone.'

Great. Europe is being divided into 'Germans' and 'non-Germans.' Last time I came across this kind of thing was in South Africa in the early 1980s when the doors -- and pretty much everything else --were designated for 'whites' and 'non-whites.'

Olli Rehn has been briefing "informally" in the sauna!

I noted the exchange at Olli Rehn's press briefing this week, regarding male only press briefings and the possible dress code for a similar session for female journalists, picked up on by Open Europe, linked here.

At the time, I knew not, that the session had been held in a sauna. No wonder the hopelessly at sea Olli Rehn came over as even more flustered than ever. So here we go again:

Olli's €750 Billion Firewall - perhaps come a Harvest Moon?

Even after the non-event of last Monday/Tuesday night, Commissioner Olli Rehn, has been amazingly specific on a new BIGGER EU firewall, he has been quoted as saying - "It should be possible to combine the firepower of the ESM and the remaining amount of the EFSF in order to have a substantially stronger financial firewall than we have at the moment. If you calculate you can see the ESM is 500bn euros and the EFSF remainder is 250bn euros."

Olli seems to believe a transfer union has been agreed, "Oh dear Another Fine Mess, Olli!" How much of that will Spain and Italy be liable for one wonders, and poor old France?????

Olli Rehn on Portugal - exactly what he said for Greece. UK next?

Olli Rehn yesterday, quoted here:

“We are working together with Portugal in the context of the EU-IMF program, which Portugal is implementing effectively and which is on track,” Rehn told reporters today in Strasbourg, France. “I know that Portugal and the Portuguese people are facing major challenges, but it’s important that the country is showing political unity and resilience in order to overcome these challenges. The Portuguese people can trust that Europe stands by the Portuguese people.”

Update 0800 GMT Olli Rehn next pans to sort the economies of ten more EU countries according to EUobserver this morning, including the UK, read here, from which I quote:

....Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Italy, Hungary, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the UK as in need for further "in depth" scrutiny of their macro-economic policies.

"If it turns out that imbalances exist and that they are harmful, this new tool is a meaningful step towards correcting the imbalances which built up over the years. Sound fiscal policies and early detection and correction of risky economic imbalances are necessary conditions to return to sustainable growth and jobs," EU economic affairs commissioner Olli Rehn said.

Greek General Strike Begins - Olli unhappy

A report from Radio Nederlands is here. It quotes Olli Rehn indicating that Olli at least has thrown in the towel:

A spokesman for EU commissioner Olli Rehn warned that Greece had already in effect missed the deadline to get the deal done by the coalition to reshape the economy and slash its debt in exchange for another bailout.

Poor old Olli, maybe this will become his Swan Song:

Olli's back from his Xmas hols, let the 2012 slapstick begin!

To start the New Year's fun, Olli is surprised by the "slippage" (apt phrase) in Spain, read here. A quote indicating the EU Commissioner must have spent all last year asleep on his job if he managed to be surprised by the mess in Spain:

The Commission will carry out a detailed assessment of the larger-than-expected slippage and the budgetary impact of the new package once we have received all the details.

Overall this set of measures gives a much needed signal to underline the new government's determination to bring back the correction of the excessive deficit to the envisaged path within the deadline of 2013.

New Treaty falling apart before negotiations commence

The FT reports in detail on the confusion over the Non-EU Treaty and the planned use of EU structures and personnel, linked here.

As usual "Another fine mess" Olli Rehn, is in the confusion up to his inverted ankles as my be gleaned from these brief quotes:

Olli Rehn, the European commissioner for economic and monetary affairs, said the new treaty was likely to only serve as “an umbrella” to give more permanence to already-agreed policies on fiscal discipline....

"If you want to introduce and implement automatic sanctions, to which there is a reference in the new fiscal compact, it may be that you may require a treaty change for that,” Mr Rehn said.
