Men's deadliest enemy. Ireland nevertheless still deserves our moral support!

The EU is now effectively a government! Worse it is daily ever more obvious that its nature and methods are tyrannical!

Although the people of Ireland have shown that imposition of an economic dependency can successfully drive a once independent people to choose imagined comfort and security over sovereignty, independence and freedom I imagine others will not so readily accept effective slavery. Their leader presupposes that benefit might be achived from such cowardice, read this report in the Irish Times, from here.

Elsewhere in that same newspaper, read here, one of the main architects of the EU's present venal machinations, EU Commissioner Olli Rehn, actually predicts the obvious end result of  the treatment already inflicted on Greece, Ireland and Portugal now resulting in the breakdown of civilised life in Spain and Italy.

Britain or more correctly England, Northern Ireland and Wales must offer their support to the Irish people in the coming difficult times. The people of Scotland unhappily have themselves presently chosen a government that wishes to impose a similar form of slavery on their country as that selected by the people of Ireland yesterday, when they opted for rule by foreigners under the new European Fiscal Treaty, so far thanks to Britain and David Cameron, not yet an EU Treaty!

EU Fiscal Treaty ratification doubts

While the MSM made much of Sarkozy improving his poll position vs. Hollande in the first round of votes, the latter is so far ahead in second round polling plans the outcome presently seems in little doubt. The planned changes to the fiskalcompakt could thus make a mockery of the charade presently being played out in the EU, that as constructed this new 25 member international treaty holds the key to the terminal sickness of the common currency.

A report this morning makes this clear, read Reuters from here, which spells out the changes Hollande may impose together with the fact his proposals are gaining support from the left in Spain and Germany. In the latter country's case Der Spiegel  reports other moves might be needed for Merkel to get the measures through even before Hollande's demands are met.

Cameron avoids confirming he would re-veto a "folding-in" of Fiscal Treaty

The exchange whereby Cameron effectively made his use of the supposed December veto completely pointless, has now appeared in Hansard, linked here:

I thank the Prime Minister for his statement and warmly congratulate him on not signing the fiscal compact agreement. Article 16 of the agreement provides that within five years at most, a further attempt will be made to bring the agreement into the legal framework of the European Union. I am sure that my right hon. Friend will remain as Prime Minister throughout that period, so can he reassure me and the House that if such an attempt is made, he will exercise his veto once more?

The Prime Minister:

I certainly agree with that, but let me make this point to the hon. Gentleman. Those who say that the veto did not achieve anything must ask themselves why other European countries are so keen to try to fold this agreement back into the treaty. That is important.

We made our position very clear. We made it clear that we would not allow a EU treaty to go ahead unless it contained proper safeguards for the single market, for financial services and in relation to other issues, and nothing has changed in that respect.

"I certainly agree with that" is not a statement of confirmation as to what was asked! This deception is then extended by the record in the final sentence merely relate to past actions when they remained only in the future.

What is clear is that the veto was indeed a farce, as the Prime Minister now clearly intends the Fiscal Treaty to be folded in to the EU Treaties without any present threat of a UK veto AND that the opinion of 63% of Cameron's countrymen and women's opinion that politicians "lie all the time", see my posting immediately beneath this, is fully borne out by the Prime Minister's responses as recorded in Hansard on his answers in the House of Commons to his European Council statement this afternoon!

Ireland, its referendum and €31Billion of promissory notes on Anglo Irish

The referendum on the EU Fiscal Traety is now expected in June for Ireland. Already the Troika is showing signes of weakening on the unsustainable debt burden placed on future generations of the Irish people in being expected to pay off the creditors of Anglo Irish bank, as may be read in this passage quoted from this morning's Irish Times:

The comments by the IMF, made by the fund’s team leader on Ireland, Craig Beaumont, were the strongest indication yet from a member of the troika that a restructuring of the bonds would happen.
He said easing the promissory note burden would make Ireland’s overall debt position more sustainable.
Mr Beaumont gave no indication of when a deal would be reached, but said the first repayment on the notes, due at the end of the month, was not a “hard deadline”. The promissory notes, with a face value of just under €31 billion, account for just under one-fifth of total gross public debt (€164 billion).
The IMF estimates that the running of large though shrinking budget deficits in the coming years will push public debt to €206 billion by 2015. A deal on the promissory notes could keep public debt significantly below that level.

Spain trashes EU Fiscal Treaty the day it is signed!

Living within the EU, all must by now be fully aware of the hypocrisy of those in charge, the overriding of national parliaments, the corrupt sham that is the EU Parliament and the complete disdain for any attempt, through referenda or other means, for any to suggest a deviation from the clearly intended but thinly disguised Marxist course.

Yesterday, however, this obscene nonsense reached new heights, as 25 members gathered in Brussels to sign a Treaty, the provisions of which none have the slightest intention of maintaining, and on the same day, one of their larger members, Spain, actually announced a budget which drives a coach and horses through all the main provisions of such Treaty. EU Fiscal Treaty

The signed version of the Treaty titled "TREATY ON STABILITY, COORDINATION AND GOVERNANCE IN THE ECONOMIC AND MONETARY UNION" is linked here from The Irish Times. (To be referred to in future on this blog as EU Fiscal Treaty)

Two items of interest to Britan as an EU member, subject to the diktats of the ECJ and the terms of the TFEU but a non-signatory to this farcial document, are as follows:

Article 8 Section 2 Final sentence:
If the Court finds that the Contracting Party concerned has not complied with its judgment, it may impose on it a lump sum or a penalty payment appropriate in the circumstances and that shall not exceed 0,1 % of its gross domestic product. The amounts imposed on a Contracting Party whose currency is the euro shall be payable to the European Stability Mechanism. In other cases, payments shall be
made to the general budget of the European Union.

Article 16:
Within five years at most following the entry into force of this Treaty, on the basis of an assessment of the experience with its implementation, the necessary steps shall be taken, in compliance with the provisions of the Treaty on the European Union and the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, with the aim of incorporating the substance of this Treaty into the legal framework of the European Union.
