To make the point that we English urgently need someone to fight for England's interests - have a look at this edited statement:- "The Scottish Affairs Commons Select Committee is (looking at Scotland's Independence Referendum and is) calling on the Secretary of State for Scotland to .... achieve a positive result for the people of Scotland."

Nothing wrong in that you may say - except no-one in Parliament is doing the same for us and 'trying to achieve a positive result for the People of England!'

UK National Parties Advance

It appears that with the exception of Wales, the nationalist parties in the UK are making steady advances as votes are still being counted.

In Scotland the BBC is making much in the news bulletins of the prospect of the SNP perhaps being able to govern in the country's regional assembly with a majority in its own right, while the English Democrats have overnight gained their first two elected councillors in Lincolnshire.

Robin Tilbrook, Chairman of the English Democrats, pointed out last evening the crucial fact that it is in England where the effects of such a Scottish Nationalist advance will most strongly be felt, as follows:

"It seems very likely that the SNP will do well at the polls today and become the dominant voice for Scotland. This will be a welcome development for English Nationalists.

It should be noted however that, if this happens, the likelihood of independence for Scotland grows significantly greater. Also, as the British Government cuts budgets in England, the knock on effect on the Scottish budget, because of the Barnet Formula, will make Independence increasingly attractive financially to Scottish voters.

It is therefore becoming ever more urgent that the people of England should have their own Parliament, First Minister and Government. The more that the Scottish and Welsh nationalists experience electoral success the more difficult it will be for the British Government to impose its neo colonial will unchallenged upon an unresisting England."

Make tomorrow English Fools Day

The following is a press release received from the English Democrats Party:

English Fools Day (1.4.11; 10.00am to 12.00 noon)

On the 1^st April England becomes the last nation within the UK not to have free prescriptions because Scotland joins Wales and Northern Ireland in having, Barnett Formula funded, free prescriptions. To add insult to injury the British Government has announced that it will be putting up English prescription charges from £7.20 to £7.40!

The English Democrats will therefore be organising a colourful and jokey demonstration, in keeping with April Fools Day, to make the point that this April Fools Day is really English Fools Day. 

This demonstration will be held outside the (English) Department of Health, Richmond House, Whitehall London from 10.00 to 12.00 (Police permission has been obtained). 

The theme is that we English are the fools for not fighting our corner with sufficient vigour! The English Democrats intend to change that! 

 

FT Letter warns Cameron and Clegg of English Tuition Fees Backlash

A letter from Dr Brian Jones, Senior Lecturer at Leeds Business School is published in the FT this morning and may be read from this link. It comes in response to an editorial in that newspaper dated 7th December titled "Clegg accepts the high price of power" linked here. The letter highlights in very moderate terms the absolute outrage of politicians elected in Scotland and Wales voting on the tripling of fees for English students only, ie such fees will not be applicable within their own constituencies!

ALL English Constituency MPS MUST therefore vote against the proposed legislation, to do otherwise would be to spit in the face of democracy!

English Constituency Conservative MPs will be voting for their own political suicides if they support this legislation around tea-time this afternoon. Please make your own MP aware of the consequences for them individually.

I link a post I made on this topic at the beginning of this week titled "  Never since Henry III have Continentals been so entwined in England's governance"   from which I quote this particularly important passage:

David Cameron, who boasts that Scot's bloods flows deep within his veins, must surely have suspect motivations on the tuition fee issue that will be under much discussion this week. Coming on top of the huge discrepancies in taxation and benefits caused by the Barnett Formula, selecting only England's students to be saddled with this levy of up to £9,000 per year, while Cameron's countrymen north of the English/Scotttish border go 'scot free' is clearly unconscionable, especially as not one step has yet been taken by the Coalition Government to undo the many existing inequities.

Former editor of 'The Sun' backs English Democrats

I have not been able to find a link to this article, but have been reliably informed that the following sensible advice was in today's 'The Sun'. Watching Question Time on the BBC as I am at present, it seems the BNP will be neutered as a protest vote by the combined forces of the totally corrupted broad political consensus aboard the gravy trains. UKIP were the right choice in the last European Elections, it could be that only the English Democrats could this time deliver the final knockout blow which can withstand the 'racist' label which will, as usual, form the self-serving establishment's counter-attack. Could Cameron be forced out?

The stance by the Leader of the Opposition in the growing constitutional crisis seems increasingly preposterous. To anybody other in the land than David Cameron himself, proposing a petition for a General Election might seem their only recourse, but following a sickeningly weak presentation of the party's policies on the increasingly tyrannical EU, suggesting YET ANOTHER petition, the Leader of the supposed parliamentary opposition was beyond parody of incompetence. This all occurring on the same afternoon as when Parliament was almost in open revolt against the Speaker and from which the Leader of the Opposition appeared absent heightened the unavoidable conclusion that Cameron has not the least idea about the importance and power of his position. The Speaker must go together with scores of Members of Parliament from all parties, but can the country really afford this Leader of the Opposition who now almost single handedly keeps the Brown Government in office with his very own lamentable personal insufficiencies! A plastic imitation Blair was never likely to be what the country needed, even in economic good times, how much less so today? Happily Cameron did spell out how getting rid of unwanted Conservative MP might be done, as quoted in The Times this morning, linked here, as follows: - David Cameron told local parties they should deselect Tory MPs they regarded as unsuitable. “If you think your MP is not right to stand, there’s a simple process for triggering his or her reselection. It only needs 10 per cent of the members or 50 people, whichever is the smaller number,” he said. Possibly his Oxfordshire constituents may wish to wait until early June following their party's hoped for deserved massacre in the European Elections. Later yesterday the English Democrats had their first Party Political Broadcast aired which is posted below. Bearing in mind Cameron's promise not to interfere with the Barnett Formula as a true bred Scot, a protest vote for the English Democrats might be most fitting for disgruntled Tories, presumably there will be many such in neighbouring Berkshire this week, particularly Wokingham!

By-Election 22 January 2009 Campaign

I am giving notice that the English Democrats are fielding a candidate for the above election, the papers have already been accepted by Bexley Council our candidate is Laurence Williams.

I am writing to notify you of several unfortunate incidents that have occurred in the neighbouring Borough of Dartford, which we do not want to see repeated in this campaign.

Incidents

In the 2007 Council Elections, Labour Cllr Mrs Deborah Stoate, wife to local Labour MP Dr Howard Stoate, whilst canvassing on the doorstep to an English Democrats activists in West Hill Ward, referred to the "English Democrats as a “fascist Party"

This was backed up in a BBC interview at approximately 4am in the morning when a Labour Spokesman referred to the English Democrats as a "Far Right Wing Party"

Approximately 3 months ago Dartford Council Leader Cllr Jeremy Kite, requested a meeting with one of our Dartford Activists. Whilst in the Council Offices to discuss the Kidd Legacy Land, Cllr Kite referred to the English Democrats Dartford Chairman and former councillor Mike Tibby as "a dictator" and Steven Uncles, English Democrats South East Area Chairman as a “Fascist Racist".

The English Democrats campaign for an English Parliament, hence our party is pro-parliament and pro-democracy, which to anyone who has had a basic education, is aware that, this is totally opposite to the meaning of the word fascist.

The English Democrats is an inclusive party, with English, Scottish, Welsh, Asian etc members and candidates.

Since these incidents, the English Democrats have invested in legal advice to understand the 1976 Race Relations Act.

To make prejudicial comments and statements regarding the English Democrats party and English Democrats Party’s, Officers, Candidates & Members is likely to be in contravention to the 1976 Race Relations Act, since it is an individual’s or group’s protected right to express their English Nationality.

The English Democrats give notice to all Political Parties & the local and national media, that repetition of this behaviour will not be tolerated, and could result in legal action.

The English Democrats have already demonstrated that they will successfully use the 1976 Race Relations Act, and have done so against “The Royal Armouries at Leeds” which paid the English Democrats £5,200 compensation, following an incident where a hall booking was cancelled simply because of the word “English” in the name “English Democrats”

Finally I would like to confirm that the English Democrats are happy to debate with the Conservative & Unionist Party, Labour Party & Liberal Democrats Party as to why:-

In Scotland:

1	Expenditure on Children’s School Meals is £1, and in England it is 37p
2	There are no University fees for Further Education for Scottish students, yet these remain for English Students (even those studying in Scotland), however they are exempt for Welsh, French, German etc students
3	Residential Care for the Elderly is free in Scotland - in England, Old People have to sell their house, and use all their savings before they receive help
4	In Scotland prescriptions scheduled to be free for all – however in England most adults still pay and in Wales prescriptions are already free.

Scotland has the ability, via the Scottish Parliament to boost its income tax revenue to allow for different Scottish spending priorities, yet Scotland continues to receive vast sums of English Tax payers money each year in subsidy – why is this money being spent in Scotland and not England ?

We look forward to an election campaign where we discuss the issues relevant to the people of England and East Wickham Ward.

Local Elections - stop the Moral Nihilism!

Today is your only chance to register any disgust you may feel at the three major parties corruption of our political processes and castration of our Westminster Parliament. A German member of that country's Parliament has finally had the courage to compare the EU Reform Treaty to Adolf Hitler's Enabling Act that opened the door to totalitarianism by the destruction of democracy in Germany in the 1930s. We all know the consequences of those events yet our corrupt politicians and their colleagues in Parliaments across the EU are conniving in a repition of those dreadful events. (The full text of the speech may be read and the video viewed on my posting below at this time yesterday). A feature of totalitarianism is moral nihilism, the belief that the ends justify the means, what better description could there be of the process being employed to ram the Lisbon Treaty through the Parliaments of the EU Nations without their voters consent! There are independent and small party candidates across the country genuinely opposed to this destruction of democracy through the Lisbon Treaty. Vote for them. The European Parliament cannot protect your democratic rights, that institution voted to ignore any democratic rejection of the Constitutional Treaty by the Irish Referendum by 499 votes to 129 (Amendment 32). In the London Assembly a good summary of the alternative groups standing may be read from a Guardian article of yesterday, linked here. Although the English Democrat Mayoral Candidate dropped out in the high profile Mayoral personality contest between the two main contenders that Party might be worth your vote in the Assembly election and the One London members have done good work for the city in the last session. A view of the kind of exposure we might expect from an English Democrat representation is shown in the Freedom of Information details at the end of this post, in which Shakespeare's birthday costs have been used to boost St George's day expenses to make them appear slightly comparable to the huge sums spent on St Patrick's Day. The main priority today must be to send a message to Brown, Cameron and Clegg that they have no mandate to sell our nation's sovereignty for party funding via the EU and that our democracy is not theirs to destroy.

An English Democrats "Freedom of Information" question, has revealed that Ken Livingstone has lied to give the impression that expenditure on St Georges Day Events is equal to expenditure on St Patricks Day. (Initially his office first response gave no breakdown of expenditure) The weasel has included events such as Shakespeare's Birthday, as it if is a St George's Day Event. London Mayoral Elections

My comment to Simon Heffer's column in the Daily Telegraph this morning on the disgrace underway in London, linked here, is as follows: I think some words on the medias almost total lack of attention to the other seven candidates (particularly given the valuable "second choice" opportunity) is a disgrace against democracy. Mr Heffer by not making that same point in his column today and instead advocating abstention participates in this scandal. A vote for the English Democrat candidate who withdrew, presumably in frustration at such lack of media attention (even when running second on the MSN online poll), might be one such repositry for a protest vote but there remain six others and a mass of independent candidates up and down the country. These local elections will be the last before the Lisbon Treaty potentially makes future polling irrelevant. A vote for the two parties breaking their manifesto promises or the third offering only pantomine opposition will condone the castration of our Westminster Parliament.
