Frank Field MP asked a question at PMQ this week which received a less than frank answer:

This whole matter is part of the Pandora's Box that Blair opened and now none of them have the faintest idea how to solve it.
There is a way to solve it and that is through the introduction of direct democracy!
No one loves England any more, it seems, except the unheard.
I suspect some form of Direct Democracy will be shammed up and form some role in supposedly filling the EU democratic deficit, in which case it is certain to be fraudulent.
JH is also probably correct, if only we could be proud of and re-learn to love our own common law rights and constitutional protections as Englishmen, we might emerge with restored powers to bloodlessly remove our rulers?
The laws are still there somewhere!
