France's François Hollande starts apparently clueless

I tried to listen to the victory speech of François Hollande all the way through last evening, honest I did. After all I live in France and have more than a passing interest in politics. But it was so bland, so boringly delivered, so totally irrelevant to the well-known and perfectly obvious problems the country he now leads really faces, that it was just not possible. It was the section where he claimed that every action he takes and that the totality of his policies will concentrate on youth, that proved the final straw for me. I will wait to hear what he has to say when he has ceased electioneering, been briefed on the true depth of the disaster that the economy faces and received his instructions from Mrs Merkel following his first (of what will no doubt become frequent) visit(s) to Berlin!

Fuller coverage of the actual speech is here.

The Euro has crashed through the €1.30 to the dollar recent floor this morning and is about to drop below 80p to the £, pending realisation in Britain following the Bank Holiday today, one presumes, that Britain's system of Government is likewise in the hands of completely clueless indidividuals!

Like Britain, they've dumped one incompetent for another MC.

It's not for their love of the new, but for their contempt of the old.

We're just going around in circles.
