If Scotland splits off and the EU fragments - Who can be English?

Today I feel compelled to raise two apparently entirely different matters, the connection of which only hit me right between the eyes this sunny Sunday morning.

The first was a post on Orphans of Liberty , with perhaps the best blog posting title of all time by a poster named, Quiet_Man, it is "♫ How do you solve a problem like shariah ♫",  linked here.

The second is a report from EU Observer, which I first read last week, and have been chewing on its implications ever since. This is titled "Anti-racism campaigners slam Finnish colour-coded ID cards" which contains this image:

I have blogged in the past on the likely outcome of the EU collapse as being fragmentation, some of which posts may be read from this link,  now we have this evidence that the implications of the problems that such a break up will cause are beginning to be considered in some of the former nation states.

I continue to believe that the Scot's independence is only economically feasible within the structures of a continuing EU, (read more here and here) but were they to gain separation, our British birthrights would thereby become meaningless and those of us with generations of living within the English portion of Great Britain, would presumably have the right to decide who has a right to English nationality, residence and work, and more tellingly who does not!

The scenario spelt out in the preceding paragraph is clearly a potential nightmare with endless opportunities for bloody conflicts. That is the true horror of what the EU has wrought, through its deliberate flouting of both democracy and decency!

The discussion thread on the posting on shariah law, linked above, visibly illustrates the depths of the disaster our membership of the EU has delivered, not just economic ruin, but the destruction of the very foundations of the nationhood that once stood surety for our liberty, security and rights!

Cameron concedes to Salmond on first call!

The Independent on Sunday carries a detailed report on David Cameron's complete capitulation to the Scots during the very first post-election telephone conversation. The article may be read from here, and contains the startling fact that Vapid  has already conceded borrowing powers:

The Government has acceded to the Scottish National Party leader's demands for immediate authority to borrow at least £300m annually from the Treasury to help boost Scotland's economic recovery.

The game plan of the Scots is clear, the referendum will be deferred as long as politically feasible while ever more concessions are squeezd from the Westminster Government. The game plan of René Levesque in seeking independence for Quebec from Canada is worth studying in this respect.

In the present situation the crumbling EU and its power to meddle and menace will further complicate events. If England is to resist the political break-up of the island of Great Britain into a continental type land area, with three states sharing land borders, thus losing all the benefits which derive from being a united island power locked by the sea, together with the tresured links with the Commonwealth, then a quick collapse of the Coalition Government, a change of leader in the Conservative Party to one aware of the economic and sovereign dangers now faced (both from Scotland and from the Continent) is essential.

According to the Independent article linked above, the following are the steps (from the Constitution Unit, University College London) which will lead to Scotland's independence, but to succeed Salmond will be aware the process will need to be dragged out over many years, during which Britain will be deliberately and steadily bled to death.

The procedure: Five steps to independence
1. A Bill is passed by the Scottish Parliament authorising a referendum
2. The referendum asks the people of Scotland to approve the executive entering into negotiations with the British government over the future of the nation.
3. If the referendum is passed, the two administrations discuss terms of independence – covering issues including the division of assets and debt, the future of North Sea oil and Scotland's membership of international bodies.
4. Legislation for a second referendum, which, technically, can be authorised only by Westminster.
5. The final referendum asks the Scottish people if they want independence on the negotiated terms.

Britain, the EU and English Nationalism.

The Scots now have an Assembly/Parliament with a majority controlled by a party supporting independence for Scotland. To be more precise the SNP seeks independence from Westminster while remaining within the present European Union.

Scotland has a population of only 10 per cent that of England, which latter country actually accounts for roughly 85 per cent of that of Britain. Scotland has a more ancient pedigree than England as a nation while geographically its location and large continental shelf render it highly attractive to the greed driven zealots who control the EU. Its welfare dependent and comparatively small population would make it easily and inexpensively acquired considering the potential size of its land area and resources.

Scottish independence is not viable in a Britain removed from the EU, that fact is the crux of the matter which should be at the forefront of every Englishman's mind!

In two days time it will be the 61st anniversary of the Schuman Declaration, which led to the Treaty of Paris, through which France and Germany now control Europe.

Britain is the entity which entered what has now become the EU, a dismemberment of the United Kingdom, would therefore seem unlikey to bestow any automatic right of EU membership to the then separated parts. Successive British leaders and its establishment, since the futile stand of Maggie Thatcher, have shown time and time again that they lack the courage to confront the growing tyranny and ever-growing direct control from the Continent.

England's leaders will therefore be unlikely to now thwart EU ambitions towards direct control of Scotalnd, which will finally fulfill the centuries old ambitions of our neighbours across the Channel, to see England sandwiched, compressed and controlled from Europe.

The fact that Britain's Prime Minister at this crucial moment has previously boasted of having Scottish blood flowing thick in his veins, is a further worrying factor - well may the SNP Leader at his first news conference after his stunning victory of yesterday have stated - that he would be calling the British Prime Minister that evening to lay down some markers!
