Iceland leads again - ex Prime Minister on trial!

Blair and Brown belong in the dock, as 'arguably does John Major! In Iceland, which has refused to allow its taxpayers to pick up the bills of bust bankers, they have now taken the next logical step and put the former Prime Minister on trial for the excesses.

A report is in tomorrow's Sydney Morning Herald, linked here. It begins:

Iceland's former prime minister Geir Haarde denied all charges against him at the opening of a trial to decide if he was criminally negligent during the island's financial crisis.

The six charges include that Haarde failed to protect Iceland from ''grave'' financial danger.
