Surrender, complete abject and immediate, is this Coalition Governments plan before the campaign has even opened let alone the opening exchanges even begun.

Relations between Cameron and Merkel have improved since then after the prime minister indicated that Britain accepts the need for treaty change and will table relatively modest demands. The repatriation of social and employment laws will be for a later treaty negotiation.

PM Cameron misses the chance to show Global Ambitions

Last evening in Paris, today Berlin ..... what a farce and complete waste of time! In this globalized world, a strong message would have been sent by a brief circuit taking in Ottawa, New Delhi and Canberra. Britain is clearly set for yet more years of uninspired leadership!

Treasures from the threads - Number forty, comes in a thread in The Times on a report that the Tory lead is down to 3%. This is brilliant news, another Labour Government being unthinkable, Cameron's labour cloned party would if anything be worse, if they are no longer in contention then voters can begin to seriously consider who is best to govern their ravaged nation! I love the UK but if the electorate make a mistake now, then I and others will reap a very very rich reward, raping and farming your jobs to countries like the Philippines, effectively depriving the UK further of its ability to compete in the world. Please think carefully before you destroy whats left of the UK and think about what business is left there and what it must do now to survive if you make the wrong choice. The manufacturing base of the UK has already fallen from 23 to 11% under your marxist cabal and they are only going to feed you more and more of their socialist nonsense if you allow them.

In response to an article of pure garbage from the formerly astute commentator Janet Daley comes this brilliant piece of advice:

It is not only the EU that concerns most people in this country, it is also immigration. We all know that is uncontrollable because we are part of the EU. And yet Cameron this week said he would welcome Turkey and other countries to join this corrupt club! Since Cameron displayed his cowardness, and his betrayal of the British people, I have sent an email every day to him and Hague, asking them to stand down and let someone who cares about this country take over. You can do the same by emailing camerond@parliament.uk and haguew@parliament.uk. It would be great if their inbox was stuffed with such emails every day! I despise them more than words can possibly say. They are as traitorous as those MPs who denied us a referendum. I shall do everything in my power to replace my Tory MP if he sides with Cameron, and he knows that I mean it!

On all TV Channels this evening we are informed of the reality of our headline above. Brown must be planning to use the Civil Contingencies Act of November 2004 to force this through ....... after all it gives the PM and aptly named piece of excrement, every power to do exactly as he pleases! David Cameron will of course agree to everything in order not to be like those divisive Americans (who in truth were almost as much divided within their parties as between their parties in the House vote last evening). Which of these charlatans is the worst?

A poll of 100 U.K. politicians, journalists and analysts by the Web site PoliticsHome conducted yesterday found two-thirds agree ``the Conservative response to the economic crisis has been surprisingly weak.'' Another survey by ComRes Ltd. showed the opposition's lead over Brown's Labour Party narrowing.

The Conservatives' lead over Labour narrowed to 12 points from 19 a month ago, ComRes said. Brown was ranked as ``best in a crisis'' by 43 percent of voters, compared with 33 percent for Cameron. ComRes polled 1,017 adults from Sept. 26 to Sept. 28.

This comment was just one of a huge tide of outrage against Vapid Cameron's extraordinarily weak column in today's Telegraph, linked here: Is that it? What about the EU Mr. Cameron and the model of excessive government that comes with it? What are you going to do about that? Hope it all goes away? Frightened of giving too much away? Labour is finished - you can be bolder than this. For God's sake the country is almost in meltdown and this is the best you can come up with? It starts and ends with the EU. Excessive Immigration - from everywhere, supremacy of EU Law, regionalisation, UK break-up, the military covenant now broken under Labour, post office closure, police in bureaucratic meltdown, NHS blinded by bean counters and process junkies, 10 billion a year into EU coffers - while the French snigger up their sleeves selling us nuclear reactors we invented and clogging our service station with Evian water from Eastern France. The Germans sitting on their hands watching a once proud nation unable to build ships, cars, trains or anything else for that matter because we thought the City would be enough. Why? Outside of the EU we can prosper and make our own laws again to suit business and us - the British, inside it we are doomed. We need to rekindle manufacturing industry, now we know what crooks the banking sector are, we can't rely on the "service" sector to keep the economy bouyant. Let's give bursaries for crunchy science and engineering subjects to kick start engineering and enterprise and make engineering THE top dollar profession. Green? Start reading the ICSC as an alternative to UN/EU BS. link Educate yourself before trying to educate the rest of us. Do it outside the EU - this is a twenties solution customs union road to nowhere. Where are are European "friends" in Afghanistan and Iraq? Mistake? try reading some Islamist websites and start to recognise the trouble we are in which will have to be FOUGHT. No more EU cheques until we see French and Germans on frontline service. Then give us that EU referendum - on Lisbon ConstiTreaty first, then we'll see. What happened to the Tories and HM Opposition? What a bl**dy mess. If you don't come up with something better than this you'll be lucky to get your majority. UKIP and BNP (Libertarian Right and Authoritarian Left respectively) are out there as protest votes and you ignore the gathering anger at your peril - you and the whole political class.
