EU Citizen Surveillance or Projecting Force Abroad?

The announcement yesterday by Air Chief Marshal Dalton of the RAF on the 617 Dambuster Squadron was interesting; One report is linked here and the following is a brief extract:

“The Lightning's state of the art stealth and precision target capabilities, together with the battle-proven Typhoon force, will complement each others’ capabilities and set the base-line for UK Combat ISTAR2 air power as a contemporary global force for the 2020s and beyond.

“Lightning shall be operated jointly by the Royal Air Force and Fleet Air Arm pilots, from land or from the Queen Elizabeth Class carrier. Overall, a hugely flexible and futuristic joint capability.”

The Footnote 2 referring to ISTAR partly explains as follows:

"2. Combat ISTAR refers to the ability of armed aircraft to conduct intelligence gathering or surveillance missions while simultaneously equipped to strike targets or provide support to ground forces."

That definition nicely encompasses both manned and unmanned flight but with intelligence as its priority. So the famed Dambuster Squadron seems set to become a mere arm of the (post-Snowden, rightly suspiciosly viewed,) GCHQ spying operations, in future presumably mostly involving drones!

So we are beginning to get a view  of how this Government and its masters in the EU now view the role for Britain's Queen Elizabeth class of Carriers for which only Britain's taxpayers are footing the bill: intelligence gathering on its own citizens within the EU and projection of its evil designs beyond its borders as its own non-democratic and therefore potentially despotic and even perhaps tyrannical leaders (whomsoever they come to be,)  in secret, (yet again without democratic scrutiny) may from time to time so decide!

Defence or even perhaps aggression, debatably and rarely, on the basis of 'my country right or wrong' could perhaps be envisioned in forming a defence policy for the future of any democracy BUT NEVER CAN IT BE SO ON THE BASIS OF  'this EU right or wrong'.

This matter and the planning and expenditure underway, is a hugely compelling reason to hold any EU referendum as soon as possible. The suspicious frequent recent showing of the film of the Dambuster raid and spin around Squadron Leader Gibson, hint at the possible disbandonment of the reformed 617 Squadron becoming a propaganda tool in the anti-Brexit campaign. Scrapping of the two carriers will also be a powerful tool to win over the jingoist vote as perceived by the likes of British Interest.

Considering Britain's interests outside the EU it is hard to make a decent case for the Aircraft Carriers, within the EU they can only be used for spreading such sinister and greed driven power and influence overseas.

Such EU power would be  mainly, I guess, towards Africa, thus continuing the disgraceful situation ongoing in Somalia to other parts of that Continent, whose plight was brilliantly described in last evening's programme on BBC2 in its Indian Ocean series.

Will Collateral Damage Destroy the Euro? Become Anti-EU!

The head of the EFSF, see the link from my post of yesterday to guage this man's sanity, has just now suggested that Euro Group former nation's wishing to obtain collateral for further loans to penniless Greece, may wish to accept Greek bank shares as collateral. Given a choice between that and Scotch mist, I imagine the latter would be preferred as it would involve no negotiation or administrative costs!

As I posted last thing yesterday evening, the collateral question has now gone far beyond being amusing or ironic for the Finns. It strikes to the very heart of our most basic individual rights being replaced by tyranny. This same contempt for ordinary people, is evident all across Europe and amply demonstrates the utter contempt for democracy and parliamentary authority, towards which most people believe the EU should pay more than lip service and offer far more than complete contempt.

On various blogs in the UK over the past few days, such as Autonomous Mind, there has been a debate over re-defining Euroscepticism, requiring a new term, clearly avoiding any suggestion of the appeasement of the new pan-European enemy - the EU.

I have suggested the term "Anti-EU" which is straightforward, transcends all Schengen borders (being from the Greek it will everywhere be immediately understood) and gives no truck to the appeasers, such as those suggestions often found on the blogs of politicians who have become involved in this discussion, such as Conservative Home, Roger Helmer MEP and John Redwood's Diary blog of the MP of that name, all often first class and full of sound common sense, but nevertheless underneath insidiously promoting the new tyranny

To describe oneself as eurosceptic allows for sloppy thinking, even running to outright promotion of the interests of the institution about which you are presumed to carry doubts. Anti-EU requires a mindset that has already determined there are no good outcomes available from the EU.

Some have suggested a positive phrase is needed rejecting the strong negativity of anything beginning "anti-". But would the Allies have won the war as Nazisceptics? We must unite across the EU, to overturn what the EU has become and remove those responsible for creating it in its present tyrannical and non-democratic form. Anti-EU for me carries the essence of this blog!

How many have really seen the EU for what it has already become - pure evil? Few I wager, therefore anti-EU may yet be still ahead of its time!  Watch the events in Finland if you are yet to be convinced - the time for strong, determined and outright opposition to the EU is very near! Eurosceptics are welcome if they take up the anti-EU cause!

Lloyds! Do any in England now believe they live in a Democracy

The Independent this morning, linked here, reports that a trillion dollars worth of foreign funds were withdrawn from the City of London between the spring and the end of of last year and that the run could now become a rout of confidence. It also has the following: This week, Lloyds became the latest bank to approach the Government for more assistance. A deal was agreed last night for the Government to insure about £260bn of assets in return for a stake of up to 75 per cent in the bank. The slide in sterling – it has shed a quarter of its value since mid-2007 – has been both cause and effect of the run on London, seemingly becoming a self-fulfilling phenomenon. The danger is that the heavy depreciation of the pound could become a rout if confidence completely evaporates. Why has this act of destruction against a viable bank been perpetrated by the Government with no calling to account. On 18th September last year, when the merger was first leaked I blogged (here) as follows: If the problem is mistrust by bankers of one another, absorbtion of one bank by another will surely merely shift the target of others mistrust.... If the takeover of Abbey National by Lloyds a while back was halted as not in the public interest how come the takeover of HBOS by Lloyds is justified in the public interest?... Re-establishing trust in Scotland would surely be best attained by separating the old Bank of Scotland from the Halifax disaster area... Now it is being announced on the BBC that Lloyds has become a government subsidiary. The shareholders have had their assets effectively stolen, although foolishly all along the way they kowtowed to the Government's demands, but under what pressure by the Government upon the larger institutional investors who alone could have swung the act of plunder! Can higher prescription charges only be applied in one part of a Democracy? Can the Government steal your bank? The answer to both questions should be No. Yet it is happening.... Can England still be a democracy?? How can the answer possibly be Yes even had legislative power not been passed to the EU? Why has the Opposition throughout this period not Opposed? (Update 0921 GMT the Government stake in Lloyds is now reported by Sky as 77%, another 2% loss over breakfast for the shareholders since The Independent went to press. What a Farce!) (Update at midday - at least one other commentator agrees on this, read here but Gerald Warner in his Telegraph blog is forced to ask in the title "Is it just me?" Just us it seems - unbelievably the Conservative Home blog is debating as its main topic whether the Tories are still right wing!!)
