A hugely expensive fast train line will start to be cut across the french countryside between Tours and Bordeaux any day now. A perfectly good line already exists. The new one will shave mere minutes off the total journey time to Paris, presumably allowing
fonctionaires and
eurocrats longer luncheons. Billions will be spent for zero return.
Eventually this line was to connect to Madrid and even Lisbon, but the cash strapped Iberians are already backtracking.
Scrap the
Tours/Bordeaux LGV NOW, and save billions of euros!
