A Poem for Snow Swept Devonshire

To Snow Swept Devonshire (by Martin Cole) The wind is rattling the shutters, Restless spirits are starting to stir, The deep azure blue is now burning through, Raleigh is hovering near! What can I do now for Devon? Here, faraway cross the sea, My mind may follow the hedgerows, there's nowhere that it cannot be! Over the pastures and sea foam, Home to its own special Beech. Back 'mongst the people I sprang from, Those whose thoughts I must reach! A Consort preparing his parting, Change will fall 'pon the Land. Raleigh is watching and waiting, Drake is surely at hand! News reports from 6th February 2009: No snow fell on Lyme Regis (BBC Spotlight), A State Visit has been canceled amid rumours on Prince Philip's health. (Various sources).
