FT claims walkouts justify NO Brits Contracts

Contract Journal reports the following in its coverage of the latest protests against 'NO Brits' contracts: The Financial Times feels to have unearthed the real reason why companies would prefer to use foreign labour - and that is that they are much less likely to stage illegal strikes. Over the weekend, they reported industry insiders saying that a factor at play is the “high level of unofficial walkouts in the engineering construction sector.” It notes: “The politically incendiary suggestion is that one reason non-UK contractors want to use their own staff, rather than British workers, is to improve productivity.
