German Foreign Minister calls for EU Army

The report is mostly from non-European agencies, this link seems the most complete. Some quotes: The merging of military capacities should in the end lead to a European Union army, Steinmeier said during a security congress of his Social Democratic Party (SPD) faction in Berlin. The SPD leader pointed out that the new EU reform treaty allowed individual EU member states to press ahead in the sphere of European foreign and defense policy. My posting of earlier today on totalitarianism is clearly of considerable importance in the House of Lords consideration of the Lisbon Treaty, and the lame duck nature of Britain's Labour Party following the split over Scottish independence clearly only easible within the EU. The British opposition's silence on the EU Reform Treaty, also highlighted on this blog earlier today is an ever growing disgrace!
