House of Commons betrays the Nation

The majority of MPs tonight voted for perks, pay, inflation-proofed pensions and padded non-receipted expenses but no responsibility! In doing so the Commons sold out its country and its citizens. The names of those few Labour MPs who voted to abide with their Party's manifesto promise were as follows: Colin Burgon, Ronnie Campbell, Frank Cook, Jeremy Corbyn, John Cummings, Ian Davidson, David Drew, Gwyneth Dunwoody, Frank Field, Mark Fisher, Roger Godsiff, Kate Hoey, Kelvin Hopkins, Lindsay Hoyle, Lynne Jones, John McDonnell, David Marshall, Austin Mitchell, Anne Moffat, George Mudie, Denis Murphy, Alan Simpson, Dennis Skinner, Graham Stringer, Gisela Stuart, David Taylor, Paul Truswell, Robert Wareing, Mike Wood. Thirteen Liberal/Democrats voted for a referendum thus honouring their Party's election manifesto promise. The remainder of their party abstained allowing the autocratic Brown government to destroy the country's democracy. The names of the Lib/Dem rebels are as follows:

Annette Brooke (Dorset Mid & Poole North), Alistair Carmichael (Orkney & Shetland), Tim Farron (Westmorland & Lonsdale), Andrew George (St Ives), Sandra Gidley (Romsey), Mike Hancock (Portsmouth South), David Heath (Somerton & Frome), John Hemming (Birmingham Yardley), Paul Holmes (Chesterfield), Martin Horwood (Cheltenham), Greg Mulholland (Leeds North West), John Pugh (Southport), Richard Younger-Ross (Teignbridge).

Tories who voted with the Government were Kenneth Clarke, John Gummer and David Curry. Two abstained: John Maples (Stratford-on-Avon) and Ian Taylor (Esher & Walton)> As the results of this treachery grow ever clearer those Members of Parliament who rammed through this travesty must eventually be held to account. Notably the final amendment of the evening was on the UK Parliament retaining its supremacy, link here. Ony 48 MPs voted in favour the remainder presumably now being happy to forego their seats, salaries, perks and pensions having abdicated all their responsibilities to the unelected eurocrats in Brussels. The 48 were as follows: Ancram, rh Mr. Michael Bacon, Mr. Richard Binley, Mr. Brian Butterfill, Sir John Campbell, Mr. Gregory Carswell, Mr. Douglas Cash, Mr. William Chope, Mr. Christopher Conway, Derek Davies, Mr. Dai Davies, David T.C.
