Dick Marty being sued for libel over Human Organ Harvesting Affair!

Dick Marty, the Swiss born Council of Europe investigator, born in the mainly Italian speaking Ticino canton, who has previously accused the EU of not wishing the full facts about Kosovo to be revealed, as reported by EU Observer, last February, as may be read from here, is now reported by Swissinfo, linked here, as being sued for libel for €200,000.

Marty's report, demanding urgent action to uncover the facts about the "yellow house", seems to have been left unnoticed since then, unsurprisingly in view of the final paragraphs of February's EU Observer report as follows:

"If I gave [Eulex] the names of the witnesses I interviewed [as called for by the EU], their lives would immediately be under threat."

Instead, a special investigation unit from abroad with a credible witness protection programme is needed, suggested the Swiss politician - something he feels Europe will oppose as it will expose their previous unwillingness to act.

"Europe is never going to accept that. Because it knows that my witnesses would really talk and reveal that a large part of the European politicians knew all along what was going on in Kosovo. Do you really think that Brussels wants to hear something like this," he said.

Marty's fellow Ticinese, former Chief Prosecutor for the UN war crimes tribunal, Carla del Ponte, met similar resistance when trying to bring to account those who deliberately turned a blind eye to Kosovan criminality, which remains a continuing stain on the odious organisation the EU has been allowed to become! The EU Parliament and its MEPs are particularly disgraced by their silence and inaction on this matter.

Two Swiss Citizens who might save the EU!

I have been wracking my brains to offer a concrete suggestion that will help the EU to emerge from its present desperate and apparently hopeless deep malaise, now becoming widely known as the Euromess, which itself is beginning to threaten the entire world trading economy. Since the final decade of the last century I have been arguing that the democractic deficit within the EU, is the greatest danger for the EU, and that the development of the internet, and the model of the constitution of the Swiss Confederation, should serve as the means for the solution of that dreadful deficit, which left unresolved can only result in a pan-European tyranny as defined by Karl Popper.

In order to escape the pernicious influences and widespread drug availability in modern English society, my wife and I decided to educate our children in Switzerland and as a result spent considerable time within that country, during which I became a great admirer of its methods of governance and the integrity and honesty of some of its politicians. Two in particular stick in my mind, and lying awake last night, I mentally prepared this posting and decided to put forth their names as possible saviours of the founding European dream. They are Adolf Ogi, twice former President of the Swiss Confederation and fearless fighter of corruption within the Olympic movement whose own personal integrity possibly lost his own native bi-lingual canton of Wallis/Valais one winter olympics, which was held instead in Turin. The other is former Chief Prosecutor for the UN International War Crimes Tribunal, Carla del Ponte, who is a native of the Italian speaking canton of Ticino and who first gained prominence for her fearless fight against mafia influences around the Swiss shores of Lakes Lugano, Como and Maggiore.

The EU Council could charge these individuals, or those they might recommend, possibly joined by a third French speaking Swiss statesmen to prepare a draft constitution for the EU along the lines of the constitution of the Swiss Confederation (with its 26 very independently minded Cantons), based upon direct democracy using the full present and future potential of the internet, totally disregarding the present corrupted and distrusted Treaties, pillars and institutions of the EU and all subject to a simultaneous, pan-EU referendum held in each of the 27 EU member states. The EU emergency funding arrangements could, if necessary, be supplemented to continue throughout the period of the preparation of the proposed draft constitution, but the confidence provided by the fact that the EU might be about to tackle its completely evil democratic deficit, could make further drawdowns increasingly less likely, and Europe could become as its founders surely must have hoped, a beacon of democracy for the rest of the world, rather than a road-map towards tyranny and institutionalised corruption as it appears today.

Cameron and United Russia in Council of Europe

I read a report in the Guardian a couple of days ago that David Cameron's conservatives were to no longer sit with United Russia members in the Council of Europe, read here. This was supposedly as a result of some baiting by the completely odious and contemptible Denis Macshane, which struck me at the time as extremely improbable as the likely cause for such a move. I have now discovered that President Putin had accomplished a bit of a coup in the Council at the end of last June over the organ harvesting affair revealed by Carla del Ponte in Kosovo, read here. These older items make interesting reading in view of the recent developments over Georgia, the final press conference of Javier Solana as Nato Secretary General and an IHT report on earlier efforts by President Sarkozy and Bernard Kouchner to get Putin in line over Kosovo. British press finally report Del Ponte's Allegations

The Daily Telegraph, linked here, finally gives coverage to the allegations of human organ harvesting in Carla Del Ponte's book launched last weekend, which this blog has been reporting for some time, read here, here and here. The shocking allegations in the book quoted by the Telegraph further emphasise the disastrous foreign policy error by Javier Solana on behalf of the EU in recognising breakaway Kosovo, as I blogged here, here, here, here, here and here. Some of the report is quoted here:

According to the sources, senior figures in the Kosovo Liberation Army were aware of the scheme, in which hundreds of young Serbs were allegedly taken by truck from Kosovo to northern Albania where their organs were removed. Miss Del Ponte provides grim details of the alleged organ harvesting, and of how some prisoners were sewn up after having kidneys removed.

"The victims, deprived of a kidney, were then locked up again, inside the barracks, until the moment they were killed for other vital organs. In this way, the other prisoners were aware of the fate that awaited them, and according to the source, pleaded, terrified, to be killed immediately," Miss Del Ponte writes.

The claims in The Hunt: Me and War Criminals have renewed tensions between Serbia and its former province of Kosovo, which declared independence two months ago. In it, the Swiss ex-prosecutor reveals how her efforts to bring alleged war criminals to justice were stymied by lack of co-operation from all sides - Serb, Albanian and even Nato. But it is her report of the organ traffic that has caused most shock, even in a region long hardened to horror.

Vladan Batic, Serbia's former justice minister, said: "If her allegations are true, then this is the most monstrous crime since the times of Mengele, and it must be made a priority, not only of the domestic judiciary but also of the Hague Tribunal." The book reports a visit by Hague tribunal investigators to a house south of the Albanian town of Burrel where they found traces of blood across a wide area, as well as medical equipment. "The investigators found pieces of gauze, a used syringe and two plastic IV bags encrusted with mud and empty bottles of medicine, some of which was of a muscle relaxant often used in surgical operations," she writes. However, she concludes that the finds do not amount to sufficient proof for a war crimes tribunal. In Belgrade, the Serbian capital, an association of families of Serbs still listed as missing since the Kosovo war, said it would sue Miss Del Ponte, alleging that she had failed to act over the alleged organ-farming scandal. Serbia's war crimes office announced it had opened its own investigation. Remember in reading the above, this is not idle journalistic speculation, but the words of the UN's chief prosecutor of war crimes in the Balkans.

EU Foreign Affairs Fiasco

Paul Taylor in the International Herald Tribune has an article on the inadequacies and "naivety" of EU foreign policy, linked here. Things could be about to get a whole lot worse, however, as my posting on the vetoing of the book launch by Carla Del Ponte, former Chief Prosecutor at the War Crimes Tribunal in The Hague, seems to indicate. As I posted earlier, her book apparently suggest the possibility that there was a trade of Serbian prisoners' body organs during the recent Balkan conflicts, my first post on this topic is linked here. The excerpts from the book which is in Italian are yet to be quoted on the web as far as I have been able to determine, but the Swiss vetoing of her attendance at the launch hints it contains something pretty explosive. Javier Solana's rush to Kosovo to hail the breakaway Kosovan government will be deeply shamed if it turns out there is any connection between individuals possibly involved in such a barbarous trade and those within the EU supported, independence declaring new Kosovan administration. Spanish socialist Solana still seems to be unaware of the damage he has already caused, see this just in, also from the IHT. Even the cowed masses of Europe standing idly by and mostly struck dumb, as their Parliaments vote themselves into redundancy with the ratification of the Lisbon Treaty, would surely rouse themselves to anger at the new potentially tyrannical arrangements being apparently run by men who can turn a blind eye to such a gruesome possibilty as the harvesting and sale of human organs. The mainstream media seem silent. The action of the Swiss in silencing their Argentinian Ambassador surely seems worthy of some mainstream media consideration?

Carla del Ponte - Book launch vetoed

The following report is from SwissInfo linked here: Del Ponte book promotion vetoed Switzerland's ambassador to Argentina, Carla Del Ponte, has been told by the Swiss foreign ministry she cannot promote a new book. The former chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague was asked to return to Buenos Aires before a scheduled presentation in Milan on Sunday. The foreign ministry said there were statements in "The Hunt: Me and War Criminals", written with New York Times reporter Chuck Sudetic, that were incompatible with Del Ponte's status as an official government representative
