Britain's Socialists Suffer Huge Electoral Set-Back

The result from a small council election in Southampton yesterday will begin a ses-change in Britain's politics, as posted on Twitter it was as follows:

Woolston, Southampton CC result: LAB 32.34% (-22.76), 27.73%, CON 26.35% (-5.55), TUSC 5.09% (+0.39), LDEM 4.49% (-3.81), GRN 4.00%.

I would imagine that vote will cause a drastic re-think in Britain's Labour Party regarding its strategy over Europe, as described by The Guardian today, linked here.

Ireland confronts the first realities of Brexit from the EU

As I tweeted this morning, PM Cameron's riding around New York on a red London double-decker bus highlights his addiction to PR and aversion to any matters of substance. Vapid, in fact, as I nick-named him on Teetering Tories long before his strange leadership election victory.

This morning I noted four items from the news headlines all illustrating that nobody, with Britain locked within the EU, is actually looking after the Nation's interests! These were, Amazon, BP oil-spill, HS2 and the EU budget; Other mornings will have different but similar lists.

In Ireland the consequences of the clearly coming UK exit from the EU are at least being considered and planned for as evidenced by this linked article from the Irish Times.

The British people do not wish to stay within the EU, neither do the populations of other large EU nations, France where recession again was declared yesterday shows support via Pew has fallen to 41%. Can Spain and Italy be expected to either long remain?

How can Britain prepare for what is bound to be a crucial and dangerous period with complete incompetents such as Cameron and Clegg shirking individual and Party responsibilities as their prime activities?

Lord Lawson calls for Britain's EU Withdrawal via early referendum

Nigel Lawson, probably Britain's most successful post-war Chancellor of the Exchequer, has made the ECONOMIC case for the withdrawal of the UK from the EU, further adding to the problems of his party leader by arguing, quite correctly, that any renegotiation of terms would be entirely pointless!

The Times, carries the first report but cannot be linked as its greed prevents its access from the real world, the Sky News report is here.

Former EU Commission President Prodi foretells "Grave Difficulties" for Britain

There is a wide-randing interview with the Italian politician, Romano Prodi, (whose own legacy to his own country incudes the present EU appointed PM,) in the pro-EU online website EurActiv, linked here.

The main section of the report on Cameron and Britain is quoted below:

"I do understand Cameron because his country is different from others. It is coherent with the Cameron doctrine that they do not want to take more part in the budget," Prodi said, noting the importance of the financial industry for Britain. "But they will become less powerful and someday they will be in grave difficulties," Prodi predicted;

'Cameron will not stop Europe. He will simply get out of the room'

Speaking of Cameron, the former Commission President warned: "He will not stop Europe. He will simply get out of the room in which decisions are being made." Since Britain's veto on the EU's fiscal treaty in December last year, senior EU and politicians now seem to accept that Britain should be left to cuts ties from the rest of the continent.

Turning to Greece and grave difficulties already in hand, a two day general strike starts in that ground-down and mortally wounded country today, as its villainous political class seems set to further strangle its citizens to gain a few more months of being able to collect their own danegeld!

Gisela Stewart MP of Lisbon's Laeken Convention calls for Brexit

Gisela Stuart MP, who represented the Labour Party at the Laeken Convention which led to the EU Constitutional Treaty (rejected) the EU Reform Treaty (rejected) and eventually the evil Lisbon Treaty (passed without popular assent), has siad that Britain must eventually withdraw from the EU! Read a report from the corrupted BBC linked here.

The Conservative MP representing Britain's Parliament alongside Gisela Stuart  was David Heathcoat-Amory, usually considered a eurosceptic MP, although this of course can nowadays never be taken for certain when dealing with members of the Conservative Party in their historical dealings over Europe. The latter's testimony to a House of Lords  hearing on Laeken is linked here.
