EU Reform Treaty

The Guardian suggests the EU Reform Treaty may be in breach of the 1688 Bill of Rights, read the full report from here, the following is the particular quote: In another awkward conclusion for the government the committee also found that a requirement in the treaty for national parliaments to contribute to "the good functioning of the union" might contradict Britain's 1688 Bill of Rights, which protects parliament from being put under legal obligations by any outside body. The Bill of Rights rid the country of foreign influences as represented by James II (of England VII of Scotland) as may be read from this link to a pdf file on the document. Meantime the foreign ministers of the former axis powers are already crowing at this destruction of British democracy, which I have to rely on a report from Communist China to provide a link and quote: German and Austrian foreign ministers said Monday that the two countries expect the European Union (EU) nations to strike a deal on the EU reform treaty when EU leaders meet next week. Germany and Austria have wide agreement on foreign policy and EU issues, Austrian Foreign Minister Ursula Plassnik said after meeting his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Berlin.
