EU silence on Argentina's seizure of an EU energy Company!

EurActiv which is supported by and reports upon events of the European Union, seeks to imply that a protest has been lodged against Argentina in an article titled "EU outraged as Spain's Repsol ousted from Argentina". It is linked here.

On reading the article it may be quickly seen no such outrage has been expressed. Indeed from the second paragraph of the exact quote from below, it can be noted that the Commission response quoted is from 13th April, before the announcement of the expropriation!

Spain vowed "clear and strong" measures over what it called a hostile decision, while the EU executive warned that an expropriation would send a very negative signal to investors.

Speaking to the press on 13 April, Commission spokesperson Olivier Bailly said the the EU executive sided with Spain in the dispute. A Commission team will visit Argentina on 19-20 April to discuss the issue with the country's authorities.

The deliberate disregard for the truth in all areas of the EU involvement can therefore now be seen to extend to hugely sensitive foreign and diplomatic matters, where a grotesque and expensive army of EU officials under Baroness Acton, serve only to render the EU a global laughing stock and political football for tin pot South American failed states of even lower economic stature than the EU itself.

Spain can ill afford such an economic blow at this juncture. Having handed its governance to Brussels it has rendered itself powerless to even properly protest, a harsh lesson on the real world for the rest of Europe!

EU wasting more €millions on a border crossing in Gaza.

The report comes within the regular Europa Express Midday briefing today and follows the dreadful remarks of Baroness Ashton last evening which further indicates she is totally obsessed with Gaza about which the EU is incapable of doing anything because it is now, quite rightly, even than ever before, distrusted by the Israelis!

Upgrading of Karem Abu Salem/Kerem Shalom crossing point in the Gaza Strip - 13M€
This project is part of the commitment made by the European Union Foreign Ministers in the aftermath of the Gaza flotilla in 2010 to extend the EU’s support to the improvement of the crossings infrastructure in the Gaza Strip. It is an EU crisis response measure under the Instrument for Stability (IfS). It will allow the expansion of the only currently open goods crossing point in the Gaza Strip and consists of the construction and expansion of hard infrastructure (loading and inspection areas, warehouses etc.) and the supply of equipment (IT, weigh-bridge, x-ray equipment). It will be carried out by the Palestinian Authority in full coordination with the Israeli authorities.

The apparent anti-semitism of Baroness Ashton

The blogosphere has already reacted in horror to the apparent anti-semitism of Baroness Ashton in bringing children's deaths in Gaza into discussion of the deliberate murder of Jewish schoolchildren in Toulouse. I have long pushed for the removal of this horrible woman from power, today I merely wonder if perhaps she does not perfectly represent what the EU has become and is therefore a very fitting High Representative. I just wish I did not happen to share her nationality!

Ashton throws away €55.4 Billion more on Gaza.

The EU has poured Billions of EU taxpayers funds into the Middle East mess down the years with nothing whatever to show for it. That policy continued today as may be read in this press release from Brussels linked here.

Note the proud assertion at the end:

The European Union is the largest multilateral provider of international assistance to Palestine refugees. Over the period 2000 to 2011, the EU, excluding EU member states alone, has provided approximately €1.2 billion of support to the Agency. This funding has enabled human development for the most vulnerable Palestine refugees in Gaza, the West Bank, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria.

How much of that we must merely wonder, went on activities that caused pain, injuries, misery and even death to others?

Der Spiegel mounts attack on British obstructionism

The article from the popular German publication is linked here, while the following is a brief quote:

Pierre Vimont, the Secretary General of the European External Action Service, has complained privately that London has blocked a total of 96 EU statements.

Of far more concern in Britain will be how much other ground has the LibDem driven weak-kneed Cameron led coalition given away in other areas. Much already is known about, but how much more is there that still remains hidden. Is not the fact that there have been 96 failed attempts made in the Foreign Policy area alone startling enough.

Perhaps the timing of the article,however, carries the most significance!

EU offers suzerainty to China in bid to save its stricken currency.

The depths to which the leaders of the EU will sink in their attempts to save the wretched euro currency which they see as the salvation of their anti-democratic project seem to know no bounds. Perhaps it is the very nature of their own secret ambitions for total autocratic control that allows them to turn a blind eye to the realities of the Chinese regime, read here.

An article by Patience Wheatcroft in the Wall Street Journal linked here, paints the picture of the reality of the direction of the EU under its new Punch and Judy leadership made possible through the abhorrent Lisbon Treaty. Who are the Punch and Judy I have in mind? Why of course none other than EU Council President, Herman Van Rompuy and the EU High Representative, Baroness Ashton.  A pair unfit for any public role except perhaps than in a canvas stall on a beach or as bit players of animal parts in a more seasonal pantomime.
