Telegraph reports EU High Speed Rail White Elephant to proceed at huge costs.
I have been following these EU rail projects, through which billions of wasted money is being spent solely for the prestige of the EU, for some time. The Daily Telegraph this morning is now reporting that the British Coalition Government has approved the HS2 line which will slash through some of the last remaining home counties countryside is now to go ahead, read here.

There is little mention in the press as to why we are getting HS2. On the BBC the EU dimension to this folly is totally ignored. It might have some meaning in terms of job creation, but most of the real work will go to French and German companies or even the Japanese, supplying the equipment.
