GMB Union in talks with group of Labour MP

The GMB union is reported by the BBC to be in talks with a group of Labour Members of Parliament regarding the rulings from the European Court of Justice which are resulting in British workers being discriminated against for employment in their own country. While the Viking and Laval rulings, see here, are most commonly mentioned by British trade unions this blog repeats the Ruffert case might yet present sterner problems. One of the major flaws in the multiply flawed EU is the fact that a bunch of appointed judges can make laws at the merest whim, often in areas in which they have neither knowledge , expertise nor experience. If changing such directives became a practical proposition then an alternative to EU withdrawal might become a realistic prospect. As it is not, this blogs position remains that EU withdrawal for Britain is the only alternative to complete annihilation which will be the result of an essential withdrawal after full ratification of the Lisbon Treaty. Time is short, this conflict is timely! The EU is reportedly becoming concerned regarding the British strikes, according to EU Business, linked here. I will again follow events throughout the day, initial reports indicate strengthening support for the Lindsey Refinery strikers, further background is in this item from The Scotsman, here.
