Deep pessimism in US and EU's main ex-nation states

Evidence of the depths of betrayal by recent youthful and telegenic but self-serving and incompetent leaders is finally being rammed home by the present harsh economic realities. In the USA the fact that Senator John McCain is on the way to the Republican Party nomination at the age of 71, when he was considered too old 8 years ago, proves for me that a dramatic shift in political realities is now underway. Unhappily it may already be too late to save European democracy, FRANCE signing its own death warrant just now by passing the oppressive non-democratic Lisbon Treaty.
