The return of tribalism

As the non-democratic and corrupt European Union struggles to rush through the final treaty that will deliver the once sovereign democracies of Europe into its greedy jaws, countries themselves are falling apart, making old tribal rivalries appear the most likely next phase in our flight from civilisation. Yesterday on France 24 a Wallonian politician suggested joining France bringing the prize of the European capital within French borders, no doubt a much disputable proposition. If even remotely possible what bits of Poland might Germany wish to claim to offset the then increased French power base, would de-stabilising those elections help in that cause?
