Dinner for the discredited and doomed

The following are quotes from an article in Times Online, linked here: ....We are watching the bankruptcy of a system built on the irresponsibility of leaders, the hijacking of institutions for private interest and contempt for the people and their Parliament." ......"This is no longer a Government. It is a raft which has been drifting for weeks along the coast of discredit." .....the Government had become an international laughing-stock and that"in a normal democracy, ?????? would have been out a long time ago." Proper comment on Blair and New Labour? In fact the comments relate to France and their PM, M de Villepin - but note this closing paragraph: In a display of business as usual, M de Villepin said France was not interested in "media soap opera" and left for a long-planned dinner meeting with Tony Blair last night in London. In periods of peril who else can the exposed and doomed cling to but those in a similar plight?
