The Still Enduring Evil of the EU and its Euro Currency.

Nine years ago today, I posted on the Financial Times discussion forums on the topic of "Will the stronger euro hurt eurozone recovery"

"As to the long term outlook for the Euro, I remain in the extreme pessimist camp, however it could survive for many decades in a pan-european, autocratic, siege-economy superstate with foreign travel restrictions and rigid controls on personal liberties and freedom of movement. But why wish for that, let the Euro die speedily and lets get on with enriching our lives with all the great things the continent of Europe still has to offer."

It is almost as if Euro Group leaders have dug out that post and with their proposed new treaty and actions in Greece and Italy are following it to the letter as a blueprint rather than the warning intended!

Yet there is more, for later that same day, nine years ago today, I also included the following paragraphs in a posting to the same forum as follows:

"Eurosceptics as we realists are repeatedly called wish for an equally happy and prosperous continent as those of you who write as if all virtue flowed from the EU and its institutions. Because we disagree about the route to travel does not mean we cannot agree on the destination.

Similarly, to report on something happening does not mean one either welcomes it or willed it. When I earlier predicted Eurozone stagflation and possible recession I was pilloried. Now it has occurred I am accused of having willed it upon the economies involved.

My hope is for a prosperous Europe where individual freedoms and liberties remain unthreatened for all its citizens. I question whether the path we are on will take us to such a destination.

As things are now deteriorating so rapidly it is occasionally tempting to take refuge in the 'worst is best' scenario I used some weeks back. The fact that I can still be plunged into almost total despair over such idiocies as Friday's fisheries agreement without clutching that straw, demonstrates that I have not totally lost faith in Europe coming to its senses.

Ther touching speech by the Danish Prime Minister Rasmussen at the conclusion of the European Council's Enlargement summit just over a week ago, was almost enough to make one weep, such obviously sincere misplaced idealism from a seasoned politician of a small country. Boy! Is someone going to enjoy having Denmark for lunch, if they keep electing leaders like him!"

Will Mandelson cause the curtains to finally fall on the corrupt EU?

The UK press this morning are enjoying a feeding frenzy over the activities of the EU Commission's former Trade Commissioner's actions in that post. In The Independent on Sunday the headline is "A final favour" linked here, the Prince of Darkness himself, interviewed by Sky News this morning, with typical bravado, claims he is today off to Russia for a few days, we are to believe entirely in Britain's trading interests rather than to cover any tracks which otherwise might be the assumption. Brown was truly 'bonkers' bringing this man back to his Cabinet, might it not just finish New Labour but even better open the eyes to the mass of duped EU citizens to what this grotesque and evil construct of the EU is really about! The evil EU?

There is a very detailed and interesting critique of the EU which was published on the web yesterday and is linked here. It concludes: The European Union is not about cooperation for protecting the best interests of Europeans; it is about turning the entire continent into a Multicultural theme park while the natives get culturally deconstructed and demographically crushed. The EU is a large-scale social experiment conducted on hundreds of millions of people. It is not about economics of scale, it is about stupidity of scale. The EU system corrupts virtually everybody who comes close to it. It cannot be reformed, it can only be dismantled.

Bank Deposits head across the Irish Sea

Sky News is reporting large movements of Bank Deposits across the Irish Sea where they will now enjoy a two year guarantee from the Irish Government (for all that may soon be worth). In the UK they also state that Northern Rock is receiving an influx of funds, as being owned by the UK Government it effectively has an open-ended tax payer guarantee. It is clearly worth reminding readers of exactly what this blog concluded on that topic over a year ago, on 16th September 2007 to be exact, link here: Ironically the Northern Rock might now possibly be the safest place for your savings at present, sitting as they are on an open-ended commitment from the British taxpayers via the Bank of England, how many more such promises can be made AND honoured? Ironies Too will continue to steer its readers away from these uncharted rocks as best it can, feeding "Brown", "Northern Rock" or "Credit crunch" in the blogs search bar will quickly show how far ahead of the curve we have been! The main point of the blog is to warn of the growing tyranny of the EU and our loss of democracy! We are equally correct on that point, please, please take note - totalitarianism profits from a world slump - remember the thirties and the end result!

An EU projecting force without troops?

Dangerous nonsense from Benita Ferrero- Waldner, EU Commissioner for External Affairs and European Neighbourhood Policy at the College of Europe, Bruges yesterday. And let me say how pleased I am that the College has added the “International Relations and Diplomacy” strand to its curriculum. As Isaac Goldberg joked, “Diplomacy is to do and say the nastiest things in the nicest way” – an important skill! EU close to collapsing the Serbian Government

The latest nation state to be brought to crisis point by the EU, following the destabilisation of Belgium and the United Kingdom would now appear to be Serbia, a country not yet even within the ambit of this latest evil empire.
