Airbus woes and EU Military

Australian airline Qantas this week said it will defer delivery of four A380 superjumbos as it battles the deepening crisis gripping the aviation sector.... EADS's other major headache in 2009 will be the A400M, its military-transport-aircraft program. The aircraft is now two years behind schedule and EADS has yet to give a date for its first flight. As I blogged on Ironies some six years ago on 29th April 2003, linked here, and at later dates, the entire Airbus project is critical to the EU federalist project, as its military component the A400M (from which commitment it is now reported Bankrupt Britain is trying to withdraw) formed the basis of much of the military cooperation which now makes possible the of the potential for internal repression within the enlarged EU, as detailed in the original and linked Ironies' post.
