Britain will be unable to meet EU payments!

The following is from a report in yesterday's Independent on Sunday, linked here: Current exchange rates will effectively increase the UK's contributions to the EU to around £5.5bn next year and, if maintained, to almost £9bn in 2010-11. This would leave a £3.6bn hole in the Government's finances. Tony Blair, co-conspirator with Gordon Brown in Britain's destitution, agreed huge new payments, payable in Euros, to the EU in exchange for nothing when the pound was some 40 percent more valuable against the Euro than today. Now with further disaster lying ahead for the pound, see my posting beneath this on the reckless insanity of the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee, it appears that with present horrendous national indebtedness one of the easier options to reduce expenditure, as the depression bites deeper and extends well beyond the Chancellor's ridiculous last estimate of the third quarter of this year, will be to withhold these ludicrous payments to the EU. A chop for the grotesque EU self-promotion budget would make a suitable target for an early campaign to justify such non-payment. Canceling the June European Parliamentary elections pending Lisbon Ratification would be a second step ideally with the present Parliament suspended forthwith! A Campaign led by Britain for deep cuts in EU spending is justified in its own right and with default more than a possibility it might at this desperate time meet with much sympathy elsewhere!
