Scots twig nationalism has consequences!

The following is from the Scottish Sunday Mail, linked here, in an article reacting to Matt O'Connor's advertisement campaign for his candidacy in the London Mayoral elections. The ads in question may be viewed on this blog in our postings of 30th March 2008. O'Connor has no plans to back down and his party will unveil the posters at Holyrood tomorrow. He said: "The ads are not racist, they are pro-democracy. "Scots might want to think for a moment how they would feel if they had an English First Minister, English Finance Minister and English Leader of the House creating policies for Scotland. "England is run by a Scottish Raj and we are highlighting the gross injustice that sees the majority of the Union being run by a Prime Minister who inflicts his ideology on England but has little or no influence over what happens in his constituency of Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath. "We've no intention of pulling what is a witty and provocative campaign." Despite complaints from Scots, the Equality and Human Rights Commission said: "We do not get drawn into this sort of thing."
