Common community corporate taxes increase hopes for an Irish NO

The following quote is key: In extraordinarily undiplomatic remarks to the Irish Times last week, French Finance Minister Christine Lagarde indicated that she would be pressing ahead with plans to agree a common method of computing EU taxes. Apparently dismissing Irish concerns about the issue, she added she hadn’t met any Irish people afraid of anything. Well, Lagarde may well be underestimating the deep fears of the Irish business community in relation to the Kovacs proposals.
