Branson finally recognises threat to democracy

Sir Richard Branson, who feted New Labour in its early days, has now decided that its enabler - media magnate Murdoch is a threat to democracy. Unhappily for Britain this sudden revelation of the blindingly obvious has come three general elections too late for the nation. He said Mr Murdoch's media empire meant he had the power to choose the country's Prime Minister and the extent of his ownership meant "we have got rid of democracy in this country".
